‘Kindred Spirits’ To Debut On TLC’s Fright Or Flight Friday Nights [Spoilers]

TLC has announced that the new series, Kindred Spirits, which follows world-renowned paranormal investigators Amy Bruni and Adam Berry, will premiere in October. Kindred Spirits was originally slated to air on Destination America, but Bruni posted to her Facebook page, “TLC – here we come!”

This season on Kindred Spirits, the fearless ghost-hunting duo is out on a mission to help real families who are experiencing troubling paranormal activity in their homes. The families featured on Kindred Spirits have turned to Bruni and Berry in order to find out if the spirits inhabiting their homes may be their own deceased family members, or are they experiencing something else entirely? Kindred Spirits will follow the pair as they strive to capture evidence, guide any lingering spirits into the light, and help to bring closure to the families they are dedicated to helping.

Kindred Spirits is an eight-part series that follows Amy and Adam as they work with a new family every episode. According to Broadway World, in the premiere episode of Kindred Spirits, there are some claims of disturbing activity, and Amy isn’t sure that a late family member is responsible. They interview Catherine and her daughter, Mary, who live on a 34-acre property in a home that Catherine and her former husband built themselves.

Some of their experiences they reveal on Kindred Spirits include smashed light fixtures, footsteps, voices, something or someone waking them up, strange scratches, and figures moving in the woods that surround the remote home. As Adam looks out the window while touring the home, he is certain that he sees something watching them from the woods. When he later shares his experience with Amy, to his surprise, she informs him that she saw it, too.

When Amy asks Catherine which deceased family members could be causing the paranormal disturbances, she reveals that someone very close to the family had passed on. She does believe that something else may be causing the negative experiences, and she would like Adam and Amy to help her figure out exactly what is going on. During an interview Adam conducts the next day with Mary, she tells him about strange scratches she received on her leg while sleeping and reveals on Kindred Spirits that she doesn’t believe that family members are responsible.

Adam and Amy may very well be dealing with a darker spirit, and their first case on Kindred Spirits definitely puts them to the test. Kindred Spirits follows as they set up several cameras both inside and outside of the home in the hopes of catching something on film. The veteran paranormal investigators then seek to establish contact with whatever spirits may inhabit the home, and when they ask if someone is watching from the woods, they receive a chilling answer. Kindred Spirits continues to follow Amy and Adam as they conduct more interviews, research the area, and do multiple investigations in order to figure out who is there, and why they are in the home.

The Futon Critic noted that kicking off Friday Night Frights on TLC, there will be a new, one-hour special featuring Ghosts Of Shepherdstown. A year has passed since Nick Groff (Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Lockdown), Elizabeth Saint (A Man Possessed, Reaper), and Bill Hartley (Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal, The R.I.P. Files) investigated reports of hauntings within Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The team was able to figure out the mystery and hoped they were able to stop the paranormal activity. In the TLC special, cameras return to the haunted town to check in with the town’s police chief, Michael King, and the residents of the town to see if anyone is still experiencing an abundance of paranormal activity.

Following Ghosts of Shepherdstown, the fan favorite A Haunting returns with all new episodes guaranteed to provide plenty of chills and frightening moments. A Haunting showcases some of the scariest stories as they unfold and are told through intense, first-person accounts.

For TLC, Kindred Spirits is produced by Paper Route Productions, Ghosts of Shepherdstown is produced by MAK Pictures, and A Haunting is produced by New Dominion Pictures.
