Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton Reunite! Exes Collaborate For The CMAs

It’s been over a year since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton filed for divorce, and both musicians have already moved on to their respective partners, Anderson East and Gwen Stefani. However, there are still some fans who wanted to see the former husband and wife reunite, and it finally happened.

The two collaborated on a new song for the CMAs called “Artists of Then, Now & Forever – Forever Country.” But they are joined by some of the leading country musicians in the U.S., including Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, and Reba MacEntire to name a few.

According to ET Online, the single was a mashup of “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton and “Take Me Home, Country Road” by John Denver. The single was created for the 50th Annual CMA Awards which will be held on November 2 on ABC. Blake and Miranda didn’t appear in the video together, but they played a big part in it. It’s still approximately two months before the CMAs, but some fans are excited to see Miranda and her former husband perform on stage together with other famous musicians. The former couple has been nominated and won numerous times at the CMA Awards. Despite the divorce, the 32-year-old singer and the 40-year-old country superstar managed to attend the awards night last year.

According to People, Lambert chatted with the wife of Luke Bryan while Shelton, who was with his manager, was 10 seats and an aisle away from her. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, who hosted the show that night, made some jokes about the pair, and the Voice coach just smiled and laughed about it. The two might not be on speaking terms since their divorce, but they remain professional when it comes to their careers. E! News revealed the reason why Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton agreed to collaborate with other artists.

“When I first heard about it, it was hard to wrap my mind around it. How many people are on three songs? How long is it? It’s not very long of time to fit a lot of things in,” she admitted.

“I think country music has always been described as a family and now having been in it for 12 years, I 100 percent agree,” Miranda explained. “It’s about the community and friends and relationships you make over the years. It’s really cool that almost everybody that’s part of the project had a duet together or performed together or toured together or something as a combo.”

Blake seems to agree with what his ex-wife thinks about the song, “Artists of Then, Now & Forever – Forever Country.” He claimed that he didn’t even ask what the song was, but Shelton accepted the project right away after getting a phone call. Gwen Stefani’s new boyfriend admitted that he felt honored to be part of a project that included so many other great and legendary musicians.

“I think it’s going to be one of those things where everybody is going to remember and everybody’s going to have a moment…that they really connect to,” Shelton said. “It’s crazy. It’s magical.”

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton had a lot of wonderful memories together at the CMA Awards, including the time when they won Song of the Year in 2012. The two collaborated on the hit single, “Over You,” which was sung by Lambert.

The two gave each other a kiss on the lips before they went on stage to receive the award. The songstress got emotional when Blake talked about the death of his brother and father. He thanked her for helping him write the song and even said he loved her in front of the star-studded audience.
