‘Scream Queens’ Season 2: Will The Show Ever Mention What Happened To Grace?

Scream Queens Season 2 finally aired with the Chanels in their glitzy medical outfits. However, despite the new and exciting hospital setting of the FOX comedy show, some cannot help but question the whereabouts of Grace and her father.

Grace is a character that cannot be easily disregarded, especially after her “Miss Detective” stint last season with boyfriend Pete, who unfortunately did not make it out alive. Her father even had an affair with Dean Munsch, but it’s as if the father-and-daughter tandem never existed in the show because they were not mentioned in Scream Queens Season 2’s pilot episode.

Perhaps the show is planning to have a momentous reveal midseason about what really happened to her. Since actress Skylar Samuels left the show to return to Stanford University for her undergraduate studies, she could even guest star when she’s on academic break. Could she be the new killer?

Samuels previously told Yahoo Style that even if she is still unsure of her plans for the future, she still looks forward to working with Scream Queens creator Ryan Murphy.

“I know [Ryan Murphy is] plowing ahead with Scream Queens Season 2 and that will be crazy and weird and awesome as Scream Queens is known to be – as are his other shows. Needless to say, Ryan is always working on something, so if I can be so lucky to work with him again, then I definitely will.”

Scream Queens Season 2 picks up two years after the campus murders courtesy of the Red Devil team. While the Chanels were initially accused of committing the murders, they were eventually released when Hester was caught on tape admitting to her sins.

Dean Munsch recruits the trio to work at her newly-acquired hospital that takes on the world’s most peculiar cases. Zayday is also working for Dean Munsch. New faces have joined Scream Queens Season 2, including John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, and Kirstie Alley.

FOX’s EVP for Drama Development and Programming Terence Carter told Variety that Murphy wanted to give the show a “pretty massive reset.” The creators want to retain the characters that viewers love but, at the same time, take them somewhere else. They have chosen the hospital as a new setting because it’s a “fantastic story generator” where “there are so many cases that walk in your door.”

Scream Queens Season 2 will steer clear from the pinks and pastels that dominated the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority house. Nevertheless, the season will continue to have a pop vibe. When asked if many will die this season, Carter did not object.

“You can still expect all of the excitement of not knowing whether your favorite characters are going to be killed off. I obviously can’t reveal too many secrets as to who those people might be, but I will say some characters that are near-and-dear to the audiences’ heart and also some new characters are not safe — both the principal cast and the guest cast.”

He said that the Red Devil won’t return because they have a new suspect for Scream Queens Season 2. Viewers have yet to find out if the killer will have teammates too, just like Hester’s Boone and Gigi.

Scream Queens Season 2 only started, but Carter said that many are already hoping for additional seasons.

“Ryan and the other guys have fallen in love with these characters. I think there are a bunch that they would like to see carry on to future seasons — if they survive this season. So much is up in the air about who is going to survive this season, that we haven’t gone so far to see how it would carry over to future seasons.”

Scream Queens Season 2 airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on FOX.
