Brad Pitt Being Investigated For ‘Child Abuse’ Following Angelina Jolie Divorce Announcement

Brad Pitt is being investigated for child abuse by the LAPD and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. As reported by Daily Mail, Pitt allegedly abused — both physically and verbally — his children with Jolie. Sources said that it was the abuse that triggered the divorce.

Sources familiar to the couple said that Pitt, Jolie, and their six kids were on board a flight Wednesday when the Wold War Z actor got drunk on the private jet and “went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids.”

Witnesses claim that Pitt continued his tirade even after the private jet landed at an airport around 8:00 p.m. and even attempted to leave in one of the fuel trucks.

According to TMZ, sources claim that the witnesses who reported the incident to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services were either on the plane or the tarmac where it landed. They say that DCFS have already interviewed Brad Pitt and Angelina but are yet to interview the kids while the investigation is ongoing.

Sources added that the incident was what prompted Angelina to separate from Pitt and file for divorce days later.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. The Tomb Raider actress indicated in the court papers that she wants sole physical custody of their six children. She also grants Pitt joint legal custody, but not joint physical custody. She made it clear, however, that she is allowing Brad visitation rights.

“He [Brad Pitt] takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” a source close to Pitt told TMZ. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

Angelina said in a statement that her decision to file for divorce was made for the “health of the family.”

Jolie’s manager, Geyer Kosinski, made a statement to E! News in regards to the couple’s divorce.

“Angelina is doing what’s best in the interest of taking care of her children. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”

The couple’s entertainment attorney Robert Offer also commented on Jolie’s decision to file a divorce from Pitt.

“Angelina has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”

Brad and Angelina, popularly called ‘Brangelina,’ met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004, but the two had been the subject of much speculation and scrutiny on account of the fact that Pitt was still married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston at the time.

Not long after Jennifer filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in March 2005, a photo shoot with W Magazine featuring the two playing house emerged, although nothing was confirmed yet at the time. Finally, in winter of 2006, Angelina confirmed to People that she and Pitt were having a baby. Before long, Brad legally adopted Angelina’s adopted children Maddox and Zahara. In May 2006, their daughter Shiloh Nouvel was born in Namibia.

In 2007, Jolie recounted to Vogue how their family grew from three to six in such a short time.

“Brad was a huge surprise to me,” Angelina explained.

“I think we were both the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn’t. I was quite content to be a single mom with Mad. And I didn’t know much about exactly where Brad was in his personal life. But it was clear he was with his best friend, someone he loves and respects. And so we were both living, I suppose, very full lives.”
