Does Hillary Clinton Want ‘Systematic Racism’ To End, Or Is She More Interested In Political Gain?

Hillary Clinton spoke out following the death of Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday morning. It was during an episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show that Clinton said the epidemic of police officers in the United States killing unarmed black people is intolerable. While talking about the shooting in Tulsa, Clinton said she wanted to speak “directly to white people.” She also claimed she wanted to let people know that “this is not who we are.”

CNN reports that Hillary’s campaign manager claims the Democratic nominee wants to implement new practices in order to prevent police-involved shootings such as the ones that have occurred in Tulsa and Charlotte this week.

“There are two prongs to her approach,” Robby Mook, Hillary’s campaign manager, told CNN. “The first is to have a set of national standards around how to manage the situations that doesn’t exist right now and that could help through training to prevent situations like this.”

Clinton has made the decision to speak out against “systematic racism” after the shooting in Tulsa of Terence Crutcher took place. CNN reports that Terence was shot and killed last week after his car had broken down. This 40-year-old black male was unarmed and had placed his arms above his head just before a police officer shot him.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department also stated that roughly 12 police officers have been injured following the protests of the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. He was also shot and killed by a police officer.

According to CNN, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager explained that when Hillary said she wanted to “speak directly to white people,” she meant that she wanted to explain how different ethnic groups were treated differently in the United States.

“What she’s saying is our entire country needs to do some real soul-searching here. It is clear that the criminal justice system is not treating everybody the same way. If you are African-American or from a minority group, you may not be being treated the same as a white person. And that’s a problem.”

Clinton did acknowledge that there were some “good, honorable, and cool-headed police officers” working around the United States. However, she said the police officers across the United States – as a whole – needed to do a lot better than they were currently doing.

“We can do better,” she explained.

Hillary tweeted later about the shooting.

Is Hillary Clinton being sincere? Does she want changes to happen, or is she just saying what she thinks voters want to hear?

Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey and a well-known Trump supporter, has described Clinton and her comments regarding systematic racism as a disgrace. Buzzfeed reports that Chris does not believe Clinton has any idea what she is talking about regarding the recent police shootings against unarmed black people. The governor doesn’t feel as though Clinton is qualified to make any kind of comments regarding law enforcement.

“And the fact is that she has no experience in law enforcement except for being interviewed by them.”

Chris Christie firmly believes that Hillary Clinton made the decision to speak out strictly for political gain.

Chris reportedly spent seven years in law enforcement, and he believes he has more of the necessary background required to speak about the recent police shootings. He also mentions that Hillary is a perfect example of the type of politician people in law enforcement hate. He believes Hillary is a politician who talks about all of these changes the police force needs to make without understanding how the police force works.

Is there anything Hillary could do to stop the police shootings from happening, or is Chris Christie right? Could it be possible Hillary Clinton is only saying what she thinks voters want to hear in order to further her political campaign? Share your thoughts in the comments.
