Kristen Bell And Ellen DeGeneres Are ‘Wannabe’ Spice Girls In Hilarious Clip [Video]

Ellen DeGeneres invited Kristen Bell to serve as a guest co-host for The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday to “spice” things up a bit, pun fully intended. DeGeneres explained to her audience why she felt the need to add a co-host, at least on a temporary basis, with a very interesting introduction of the actress and comedienne.

“We have fun a lot of fun here every single day. There’s dancing. There’s a lot of love and positivity. It’s like Burning Man for people who shower. People ask me, ‘Ellen, how do you keep the show fresh after all these years?’ And there are two things that I do. One: I try to never repeat myself. Two: I try to never repeat myself. I like to change things up all the time… It’s not easy to do something by yourself. It’s so much more fun to do things with somebody else. There’s one thing I can think of right now… and then I just thought of another.”

Just to clarify, that was DeGeneres’ discombobulated way of introducing Kristen Bell as the guest co-host of the day, noting that she is a “princess” and “sells washer and dryers on the side.” With the addition of the bubbly Bell, The Ellen DeGeneres Show was intent on doubling the fun, love, positivity, and dancing for the day. Especially the dancing part, as the comedic duo demonstrated in a video segment showcasing their musical and style skills, or lack thereof, some may argue.

DeGeneres discussed how the Spice Girls are going back out on tour, but without the talents of two members of the British pop group. That means that the Spice Girls need two more girls to join the gang, with Bell and DeGeneres officially throwing their hats into the ring — and perhaps throwing a pair of go-go boots and steampunk glasses into the mix as well.

DeGeneres introduced their take on being a Spice Girl to The Ellen DeGeneres Show viewers Tuesday.

“Last week the Spice Girls announced they’re doing a big reunion tour, but Posh (Victoria Beckham) and Sporty (Mel C) are not going to be a part of it. They’re holding auditions for two spots in the group….Kristen and I are the perfect choice.”

Bell agreed it was a no-brainer to add the duo to the Spice Girls roster. DeGeneres agreed, noting that she didn’t know why the pair even bothered with an audition tape because it was painfully obvious that the Spice Girls would call them for the gig. Yet they still put together a little sample of their musical stylings to the tune of the mega-hit “Wannabe.”

Obviously, judging from the video, Kristen and Ellen love pink and tacky faux fur. Plus that stylin’ tracksuit that DeGeneres is sporting should make Spice Girl fans forget Sporty Spice, right?

Should Bell and DeGeneres get the call, Kristen may have a hard time working in a Spice Girls tour into her already busy schedule. In addition to raising a family with husband Dax Shepard, Bell stars in a brand-new comedy on NBC with Ted Danson, The Good Place. Her character is a deceased woman who has been mistakenly sent to a very desirable location in the afterlife and is frantically trying to rise to the criteria to stay in that good place before the mistake is discovered. WTHR reports the show is the brainchild of Mike Schur, the creator of Parks and Recreation.

Not only does the funny lady have a new sitcom, but the actress and singer confirmed in an interview with Collider that writers are putting the finishing touches on the script for Frozen 2. There was also a bit of buzz around Kristen Bell’s Emmy dress for the 2016 awards last Sunday.
