Selena Gomez And Taylor Swift Writing New Songs: Will They Duet Or ‘Destroy’ Exes In Music?

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have supported each other in the way that only best friends can. And now, with both going through heartbreak (Selena had to cancel her tour after a lupus flare-up while Taylor got dumped by Tom Hiddleston), the two are on parallel paths again by hitting the studio to make music.

Gomez is getting ready for what Hollywood Life describes as a “major comeback.” The 24-year-old “Kill ‘Em with Kindness” singer isn’t going to let the cancellation of her tour stop her from making music, a source told Hollywood Life.

However, the insider revealed that fans shouldn’t expect to see Taylor’s best friend in public.

“Her health and privacy is her top priority right now so she has been careful about sharing her whereabouts with anyone,” explained the source. “She has been missing her fans and performing her music and hopes to get back on the road soon.”

A diagnosis of lupus hasn’t halted Selena’s creativity, according to the insider.

“Selena’s also been channeling her creative energy in writing lyrics and new music so she will be prepared for the studio when she feels well enough to get back to work.”

For those wondering just who or what might inspire a new song, the singer was the subject of speculation in May that her “Feel Me” tune is all about Justin Bieber, according to Us Weekly.

“No one loves you like I love you / I never cheated, never lied / I never put no one above you / I gave you space and time / And now you’re telling me you miss me / And I’m still on your mind / We were one in a million / Our love is hard to find,” sang the “Hands to Myself” crooner.

Recently, Bieber and his former girlfriend shocked their followers with an infamous war of words on Instagram, with each accusing the other of cheating, as the Inquisitr reported. Will that battle fuel a new song, or is there a chance that with the “Feel Me” singer’s best friend Taylor also reportedly heading back to the studio, the two could even team up for a duet?

Earlier this year, E! News noted that fans have been pleading for a duet from Gomez and Swift. The two have taken over the red carpet, starred in the same music videos and spent time together in their squad.

As for a musical collaboration with Swift, Selena offered a promise.

“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, eventually, right?” agreed the “Kill ‘Em with Kindness” singer. “She’s my best friend.”

At this point, Swift is gearing up for a fight in which Gomez may not want to participate, because the Mirror cites a source who claims that Taylor is determined to “destroy” her exes Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston on her next record.

“Taylor’s blood was boiling when Tom’s camp waded in with stories slamming her. This was made worse by Calvin’s comments, which felt like another dig,” revealed the insider. “[Swift] said Calvin was twisting the knife when her reputation was already at an all-time low.”

Taylor was reportedly furious about all the rumors, and although she had stayed silent, she is at the point where she feels the next album will give her the chance to reveal what really happened.

“Taylor’s been left fuming and is going to use her next album to restore her reputation and set the record straight,” explained the source.

“[Swift] says she’ll destroy Calvin and Tom.”

Moreover, the insider revealed that Taylor wants to “get payback” by sharing certain details that she had previously agreed to “keep secret.” Despite those allegations about Swift’s plot to “destroy” her exes, however, Hiddleston has claimed that the two are not fighting.

“It was an amicable split,” an insider told People.

Questioned at the Emmy Awards, Tom simply said “yes” when asked if he and Swift are still on good terms.
