Indianapolis Colts Vs. San Diego Chargers: 5 Bold Predictions For NFL Week 3

The Indianapolis Colts are heading into Week 3 with a 0-2 record, while the San Diego Chargers are 1-1. Both teams came into the season hoping to be serious contenders in the AFC, but they both have some work to do in order to get to that point. They will face off this week in Indianapolis in what is expected to be a very competitive football game.

Andrew Luck was unable to lead the Colts past the Denver Broncos this week. They ended up losing by a final score of 34-20. San Diego, on the other hand, broke out with a huge 38-14 blowout victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It will be interesting to see how both of these teams look this week, as they both have something left to prove.

Chuck Pagano and the Colts certainly have more pressure weighing down on them, as starting the season 0-3 wouldn’t give them a good chance to get back into the playoff race. San Diego could use a win as well, however, in order to get above.500 early on in the season.

All of that being said, what five bold predictions can be made for the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers’ matchup in Week 3 NFL action?

Andrew Luck Will Break Out for 350 Yards, Four Touchdowns

Great players step up the most when their teams need them the most. If there was ever a time that the Colts were desperate for Andrew Luck to take over and power them to a win, it is this coming week. San Diego is a decent football team, but Luck will throw for at least 350 yards and four touchdowns in an attempt to lead his team to a huge victory.

Melvin Gordon Will Score Another Two Touchdowns

After not scoring a single touchdown in his rookie season, Chargers’ running back Melvin Gordon has stepped up and scored three already this year. Gordon will receive an even bigger workload moving forward this season with the injury to Danny Woodhead. He will break out and score another two touchdowns this week against a Colts’ defense that has had major issues in recent years against the run.

Phillip Dorsett Will Break Out in a Bigger Role

Indianapolis may have to play next week’s game without No. 2 wide receiver, Donte Moncrief. He is set to undergo an MRI on the shoulder injury that he suffered against the Broncos, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN. Phillip Dorsett will step up and take advantage of the increased role and will show some of his “star” potential that the Colts believe he possesses.

San Diego Will Record at Least Five Sacks on Andrew Luck

One of the biggest issues that the Colts have had over the last few years is protecting their quarterbacks. Andrew Luck has taken a beating in the first two games this season and it will happen this coming week as well. San Diego will come together to record at least five sacks throughout the course of the game.

Indianapolis Will Edge Out San Diego for Their First Win

It isn’t going to be an easy game for the Colts to win, but they will find a way to pull out their first win. Chuck Pagano has to figure out a way to get his team back on track immediately if he wants to compete for the AFC South division title. San Diego will not give up without a fight, but will end up losing on the road.

Expect to see these two teams put on an entertaining show from an offensive standpoint. Both of their defenses have major holes and that will show in a big way.
