‘This is Us’ Set To Be The ‘Best New Show’ On NBC: Stars Justin Hartley And Milo Ventimiglia
This is Us premieres tomorrow night, and the hype surrounding it is building. The cast is filled with huge names, including Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman from The Young and the Restless) and Milo Ventimiglia (Jess from Gilmore Girls). Other famous names include Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown. The cast alone is enough to draw viewers, but the storyline is going to keep them around.
When Parenthood went off the air, NBC scrambled to replace it. This is Us is comparable to it, but the new show is unique enough to stand alone. According to E! Online, This is Us is ranked number one for the new fall line up. It will air Tuesday nights after The Voice. Tomorrow, the pilot will air, and the ratings will tell the tale of just how many people will tune in to watch. The trailer has been viewed over 100 million times, which is nothing short of impressive.
The storylines are separate but will cross as the season goes on. Several of the characters share the same birthday, year and all. Each story is unique and connects to various viewers out there. Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore are going to be parents of triplets; Sterling K. Brown finds the father who walked away from him, and Justin Hartley is an actor dealing with his own battles. This is Us has given fans a trailer that is worth watching and proved the show has something that appeals to everyone.
Many fans from The Young and the Restless will follow Justin Hartley to NBC. The news of his departure was shocking for some and devastating for others. He stepped into the role of Adam Newman and took over a part previously played by fan-favorite Michael Muhney. Now that he is gone, his fans will follow him. If you haven’t seen him on Y&R, you may recognize him from Mistresses, Revenge, or the now-defunct NBC soap, Passions. It seems Hartley has a lot going on in his life with this new show and his upcoming wedding planning. He became engaged to long-time girlfriend Chrishell Stause just a few weeks ago.
Milo Ventimiglia has quite the fan base as well. He starred in the popular Gilmore Girls series and remains one of the favorite characters. Earlier this year, he filmed the four-part update of the show, which will air on Netflix in November. He has been busy working on television since leaving the role of Jess, but his new role in This is Us is one that will garner huge attention. He is going to be a new father to more than one child. This is a storyline that plenty of women with a child or with several children are looking forward to seeing. While it isn’t the typical role he plays, it looks like it would suit him quite well.
NBC is looking forward to seeing what the ratings will show as far as viewership goes for This is Us. The amount of excitement shown about the trailer is hopefully a sign of greater things to come. The cast has been out doing publicity tours on various talk shows and news outlets, even taking the time to answer fans on social media.
Having a good working relationship is important when doing a show like this, and it seems that the cast of This is Us has a lot of mutual respect for one another. The series premiere airs tomorrow night directly following The Voice. Incredibly high ratings are anticipated, and it is one of the only shows that is almost certainly going to be picked up early on. If you haven’t planned to watch This is Us, it definitely should be one show that you at least check out once.
