Grand Theft Auto IV: first ‘Gay Tony’ screens emerge

Here are the first screens for Grand Theft Auto IV:The Ballad of Gay Tony, the second of two downloadable episodes that Microsoft purchased as an exclusive from Rockstar for a cool $50m. What to say? This looks nice. Certainly nice enough to remind me that Grand Theft Auto IV actually existed.

It’s been fifteen months since I last played Rockstar’s open-world adventure, so it’s going to take some hella impressive reviews of this to drag me back. As for Microsoft, it needs to recoup $25m for this puppy – at $20 a copy, that means sales of 1.25 million. It’s due to be released as a Xbox Live Marketplace download on October 29.

Before I leave you with the screens (bigger versions of which are here), here’s Rockstar’s press release with a quick synopsis:

“Part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka ‘Gay Tony’), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.”
