It looks Chris Brown and Rihanna are getting back together.

The couple, who split in 2009 after Brown was arrested for domestic abuse, were spotted making out at a club in New York City early on Tuesday morning. According to Extra TV, the late night hookup was probably alcohol induced and may not lead to a new relationship.

The gossip site reports that Brown showed up at the Griffin nightclub with some friends early in the night. Rihanna came later with friends of her own. The two spotted each other and started talking. I’m guessing it went something like this:

• Chris Brown: Remember that time I gave you a black eye?
• Rihanna: (Laughing) Oh, that was so cute.
• Chris Brown: I know, right? You only hit the people you love.
• Rihanna: You love me? Awwwww.

E! Online reports that Chris Brown took his shirt off at the club and was dancing with his former girlfriend. Then they started making out. According to the gossip site Brown and Rihanna left the club separately at about 4 am. They were, however, spotted later that afternoon leaving Rihanna’s hotel.

The new romance is controversial due to the couple’s violent past, but also because Brown is currently dating Karrueche Tran. It doesn’t look like Brown is too serious about that relationship, however, since he was spotted kissing Nicole Sherzinger last week.

This isn’t the first time that rumors have circulated the controversial couple. Earlier this year they were spotted together in Monaco and several sources reported that they were getting back together.
