Former third party presidential candidate Ralph Nader believes that President Barack Obama is worse than his predecessor George W. Bush on foreign policy and is politically selfish for not giving more support to his fellow Democrats running for Congress.

In a recent interview with Politico, Nader — who is obviously no fan of the Republicans by any means — insisted that, when it comes to overseas military and foreign policy decisions such as drone attacks in particular, Obama is “more aggressive, more illegal worldwide” than Bush. He added that Obama should be held accountable for war crimes.

Nader referred to Obama as “below average” as compared to other presidents because his election in 2008 raised expectation levels and also because he is violating laws “with abandon” despite his above-average intellect and knowledge of the law. “I don’t know whether George W. Bush ever read the Constitution. This man taught the Constitution, and this is what we got.”

Nader also observed that, if the Democrats don’t recapture the US House of Representatives, Obama won’t be able to get anything done even if he is re-elected, so he should be pushing Congressional candidates in his own party a lot more. Obama is the lesser of two evils, however, when compared to GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, according to Nader.

Ralph Nader ran for president on the Green Party ticket in 1996 and 2000 and as an independent candidate in 2004 and 2008. He is not running for president in 2012.
