‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: New Promo Pics Prove Just How Hard It Is To Market Without Revealing Spoilers

AMC has just released a swath of new images for Season 7 of The Walking Dead. However, considering just how many of the main characters are in the lineup for Negan’s bat, they have come up against a hurdle in regards to what they can show to promote the upcoming season. So, what did AMC do? Basically, they created their own Pinterest board that features absolutely no one from The Walking Dead.

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses Season 6 and 7 of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid potential spoilers.

The Season 6 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead saw 11 characters lined up in front of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Negan will kill at least one of these characters and about the only ones we know are likely to be safe are Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his son, Carl (Chandler Riggs). So, with nine other characters’ lives hanging in the balance, AMC has decided to release new images from the set of The Walking Dead. Twenty-five images were released, ranging from images of scenery, to random objects that you might find during the apocalypse. Mostly, it looks more like a Pinterest board for the apocalypse than an indicator of what Season 7 might be about.

Although, in saying that, there are a few telling signs for eagle-eyed fans. Some of the images are definitely from Alexandria, a place fans are familiar with from Season 6 of The Walking Dead. There are other images that appear to be from Negan’s compound. For example, the image below certainly looks like something fans have already seen in Season 6 of The Walking Dead when Rick’s group infiltrated Negan’s compound.

Then there are images that do not look like any of the compounds seen so far in The Walking Dead. So these images could be from either Negan’s compound or areas of Hilltop we have not yet seen. Two images depicting spears are also likely to be from Hilltop.

The remaining images could be from the new group called The Kingdom and headed by Ezekiel (Khary Payton), who are expected to turn up in Season 7. This group was initially introduced to Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) in the final episode of Season 6 of The Walking Dead. As yet, very little is known about this group, unless you are a fan of the comic books that the show is based on.

There are a couple of really interesting images in among all of the seemingly random pictures. Firstly, the image above shows a sign with the word “trouble” written on it. While it might be just a single word, it might also be a part of a much larger message designed to scare people off. After all, it appears to be attached to a gate or a heavy duty fence.

Another image, seen below, is also intriguing, mainly because fans have seen images like this carved into trees before. As Movie Pilot points out, Gareth, who was a member of Terminus, admitted his group used to leave markings on trees so they could work out how to get back to Terminus. So, does this mean we haven’t really seen the end of Terminus in Season 7 of The Walking Dead? Or, is another group using marking on trees as well? Only by tuning in to Season 7 will reveal all.
