‘The Bachelor’ Nick Viall Reveals His Expectations, Advice From Ben Higgins And What He’s Looking For

New leading man Nick Viall will begin filming the 2017 season of The Bachelor very shortly. Nick has made himself known in the franchise by always being the runner-up in his previous appearances on The Bachelorette. Fans are hoping this next go with Nick in charge of the roses will finally be Viall’s turn to find lasting love. Prior to beginning his journey, Nick has already began making media appearances to promote his new role and Viall is sharing all his turn ons and turn offs, as well as, his expectations for the upcoming season.

Nick shared with People that while this isn’t his first go around on reality television, he is hoping it will be the last. Nick revealed he is ultimately hoping to find someone special to share his life with. Viall also mentioned that he will not propose at the end just for the sake of proposing. If Viall isn’t feeling like any of the women are the one for him, he will not get engaged at the end. Nick says, “My biggest fear isn’t necessarily getting my heart broken. It’s not finding the right one.”

Season 21 of The Bachelor will be Viall’s fourth appearance with the franchise. Nick first came on The Bachelorette during Andi Dorfman’s season. He was sent home with a broken heart after Dorfman chose Josh Murray over him at the final rose ceremony. Nick took a second chance when he appeared again a few episodes into Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of the show. She also sent Nick home at the final rose ceremony. Viall’s third shot at love came on Bachelor in Paradise season three. Nick met Jen Saviano towards the end of the season and ultimately sent her home at the final rose ceremony saying he just wasn’t in love with her.

So what is Viall looking for in his perfect woman? People shared what Nick had to say about some qualities he is looking for in his future bride. Viall said he is not attracted to submissive women. Nick wants a woman who has “genuine confidence.” Viall admits that sometimes that quality is hard to find. A woman may appear confident but then turns out she’s not as much as he initially thought. Another big turn off for Viall is baby talk. Nick said, “Like, nothing will ruin a moment like baby talk. That is not good.” Nick also shared he has never smoked a cigarette and thinks it is pretty gross. His perfect woman will also need to be on time. Viall admitted he hates being late to anything.

US Weekly also recently shared that while Nick is hopeful he will find the one, he knows there are no guarantees. Viall said, “You never know if you’re going to connect with [the women]. Maybe you really like someone who doesn’t really like you back. You just never know.” Finding a connection does not seem to be a problem for Nick, it’s finding the connection that will last forever. Now Nick will have 25 or more women to choose from to search for that perfect relationship.

Nick has also already been receiving some great advice from previous Bachelor alumni so he can go into filming prepared. Chris Soules and Ben Higgins have been communicating with Viall and giving him their thoughts on how to handle his upcoming role. Viall revealed to People that the advice that stuck with him the most was from Higgins. Nick said Ben told him if he did not feel the final woman was someone he could see forever with then to not be afraid to not get engaged at the final rose ceremony. Viall said he thought it was “a very genuine bit of advice and something that I definitely took to heart.”

While the actual season has not started filming yet, Reality Steve took to Twitter to share a photo of Nick filming his introduction video in Waukesha Wisconsin. According to Steve, Viall will begin filming sometime in the next few weeks and it will wrap up in November. Fans will have to wait until January though to see how it all works out for Nick. Everyone, including Andi Dorfman, are cheering Viall on as he embarks on this fourth journey to find love. Good luck to Nick Viall as he finally gets his turn where he cannot be the runner-up! ABC will begin airing season 21 of The Bachelor in early January 2017.
