Simon Cowell Confirms There’s Drama Within Fifth Harmony [Video]

Simon Cowell appears to be confirming that there’s drama behind the scenes of Fifth Harmony.

The music mogul, who first put Fifth Harmony together as a band after they auditioned separately for The X Factor USA in 2012, and later signed them to his Syco record label, hinted that there may be trouble within the girl group in a new interview with New Music Buzz after he admitted that he “hopes” the girls will be okay.

Simon made the admission when asked what’s going on with the girl band amid reports of drama and a handful of recently canceled tour dates at the America’s Got Talent season 11 finale earlier this week, and it’s safe to say Simon’s responsive wasn’t exactly promising.

Not doing anything to hide his shocked reaction, Cowell replied, “The same as any other group,” when asked to comment on the feud reports.

“We have conversations about what they want to do. We gotta listen to them. It’ll be fine,” Simon added, but then got Fifth Harmony fans pretty worried with what he did next.

After keeping calm during the Fifth Harmony drama and feud question, Cowell then turned to the camera, pulled a nervous face and added, “I hope!”

As noted by Perez Hilton, Cowell’s less than enthusiastic response when asked about Fifth Harmony’s rumored drama “doesn’t sound so promising” for fans of the band.

Simon’s seeming confirmation that all is not well within Fifth Harmony right now comes just days after the band’s fans urged them to take a break amid reports of a feud after the girls cancelled a number of shows from the European leg of their “7/27 Tour” and rescheduled a number of others.

Fifth Harmony fans were quick to voice their concerns for the girls on social media, urging them to take some time off as the feud rumors continued to swirl.

“Can [Fifth Harmony] take a break?” @zaurenarts tweeted out as rumors suggested feuds and drama are brewing within the girlband. “They all are not in the best condition. Can management stop seeing them like money and start seeing them as the humans they are?”

Calls for the Fifth Harmony girls to slow down came after months of speculation that a feud could be ripping the girls apart.

A Dose of Sass most recently alleged that Camila Cabello’s solo aspirations were coming between the Fifth Harmony ladies, claiming that the girls were “frustrated” that Cabello, who dropped “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes last year, planned to release more solo music in the coming months.

“At the Republic Records afterparty, the group did not seem so harmonious,” the site alleged of the drama, reporting that the band supposedly weren’t exactly friendly at a 2016 MTV Video Music Awards party. “Four members of the band showed up, Camila was missing. Then at 2:30am Camila walks in and the other four leave.”

Fifth Harmony have yet to confirm the reports, though the claims certainly weren’t the first time the girls have been accused of an in-band feud.

Just weeks earlier, Camila’s bandmate Normani Kordei was accused of confirming a feud with Cabello after she appeared to struggle to compliment her Fifth Harmony bandmate during an interview when asked how she’d describe the girls.

Perez Hilton reported that the Fifth Harmony star quickly described Ally Brooke as being “Sunshine,” Dinah Jane a “turn up queen” and Lauren Jauregui as a “therapist,” but then hesitated before calling Camila “quirky” and “cute.”

Since then, Fifth Harmony have been hit with even more drama after Lauren Jauregui broke down in tears during a performance while Cabello left the stage and failed to return during another concert, telling fans that she was suffering from too much anxiety to close out the show.
