Zac Efron ‘Scared’ Of Dating Taylor Swift [Report]

Zac Efron is allegedly “scared” of the idea of dating Taylor Swift as rumors continue to swirl suggesting that the two could be in the early stages of a relationship.

According to reports, Zac is reportedly worried about dating Swift for fears that if the two do in fact start a romance, their relationship would eclipse his acting career.

“Zac’s really excited on what Baywatch is expected to do to his career, and a high profile romance with Taylor might derail that,” an insider said of Efron’s upcoming appearance in the Baywatch remake set for release in 2017.

“He’s scared of getting involved with Taylor because people then would only care about his love life and not his acting career,” the source continued.

The site’s insider also went on to claim that Efron is seriously sceptical about getting into any sort of dating game with Swift because he knows first-hand how difficult high-profile romances are after the public scrutiny that followed his past romance with Vanessa Hudgens, and more recently, his relationship with Sami Miro.

“[Efron] is very aware of what it takes to make a public relationship, especially with someone like Taylor, work out,” the site’s source said.

“Zac felt like he always had to keep his guard up with Vanessa,” Hollywood Life claimed of Efron’s past romance with his High School Musical co-star, who he dated for five years between 2005 and 2010.

Reports claiming that Zac is “scared” about the idea of dating Taylor come just days after Life & Style alleged that Swift and Efron have been in contact since the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer split with her boyfriend of three months, Tom Hiddleston, earlier this month.

According to the magazine, Taylor Swift and Zac Efron “have always been pretty flirty with each other” ever since the twosome became friends after meeting when they both lent their voices to characters in the 2012 animated film The Lorax.

But while the two haven’t been spotted together in recent weeks, nor have either spoken out about the new reports claiming they could be dating, an insider alleged to the site that Swift and Efron have been growing pretty close in the wake of Swift’s latest split.

“[Taylor’s] been talking about him nonstop since her breakup with Tom,” an insider claimed, adding that Swift has allegedly “always said she feels a strong connection to Zac” since their The Lorax team up, which saw them make a pretty flirty appearance together on The Ellen DeGeneres Show four years ago.

But while Taylor and Zac have both stayed tight-lipped amid the dating reports, the magazine went on to claim that it was actually Swift who made the first move, despite only splitting with Hiddleston a matter of weeks ago.

“[Taylor’s] reached out to Zac and told him that they should hang out and maybe go to dinner together, and he’s into it,” an insider alleged of the potential couple’s blossoming romance. “It just hasn’t happened yet because of their schedules.”

But while Efron and Swift haven’t officially confirmed the dating rumors, that hasn’t stopped the twosome’s fans from flocking to social media to weigh in on the reports and noting how quickly Taylor appears to have moved on from Tom.

“Taylor just broke up with Tom a few days ago and now she’s dating Zac?” Twitter user @GabbsPitargue asked amid the latest dating rumors to surround Swift. “My Goodness.”

“If Taylor is really dating Zac… [I don’t know] who to be more disappointed with,” @shijietay added on the 140-character site of Swift and Efron, while social media user @shahiraalyssa wrote, “Zac and Taylor now??? ahAHAHAHAHHA OMFG SO FAST.”
