BlizzCon 2016 Virtual Ticket Includes ‘Overwatch’ Skin, ‘World Of Warcraft’ Pets, And Much More

In November, fans from around the world will gather in California to celebrate Blizzard Entertainment’s stable of games and franchises. During BlizzCon, the developer often discusses and announces new features or expansions for their games. This year’s convention will likely be no different with a variety of panels and tournaments scheduled to occur over the two-day event.

Although space is limited for attendees in person, everyone can be a part of BlizzCon 2016 with the Virtual Ticket. A Virtual Ticket gives the buyer a chance to view all the BlizzCon 2016 interviews, panels, contests, and more. For $39.99, a Battle.net account can view all the stages of the event over the two-day period including the closing ceremony. Not to mention, the entire content can continue to be viewed for up to two weeks after the event.

The digital pass to BlizzCon 2016 has been available for some time; however, the digital goodies that are included with the ticket were announced today. On the official BlizzCon 2016 website, the Blizzard Entertainment team announced each digital goody included with the Virtual Ticket for all of their games. Players will receive items for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft 2, Overwatch, and Diablo 3.

In World of Warcraft, Virtual Ticket owners will receive a new murloc pet. In fact, there are two murlocs included with this year’s BlizzCon ticket: a murloc aligned with the Horde wielding an axe and an Alliance murloc with a sword and shield. It is unclear right now if a buyer will receive both murlocs or just one for a chosen faction. It is possible, though, that both will be unlocked with the Horde murloc only available to Horde characters, for instance.

In Hearthstone, a brand new card back will be unlocked for players that attend BlizzCon. The Welcome Inn Card Back features the classic hearthstone icon and a set of tavern doors. This card back skin is perfect for players that love a touch of orange and soothing blue while they go up against their opponents.

In Heroes of the Storm, a new cat mount will be added to a player’s mount list thanks to this year’s BlizzCon. The Nexus Tiger is a ferocious cat with mechanized armor. With glowing blue eyes and an overall blue appearance, the Nexus Tiger is sure to impress allies and enemies alike.

For StarCraft 2, ticket holders will find a little different bonus. A new portrait is definitely part of the ticket purchase, but StarCraft 2 players will also receive “a fun new piece of upcoming” content. According to the fine print, this goody will later be available to players but ticket holders get it early.

In Overwatch, players will receive a skin for the robot Bastion. The blue and silver skin lets Bastion sport a BlizzCon logo while leaving his avian friend in bright orange feathers. In Diablo 3, players will welcome a new Diablo pet based on the original game’s enemy design. Since these two titles are available on consoles, those players might be curious if they can be redeemed on those platforms. For Overwatch players the answer is “yes” if the Battle.net account that purchases the Virtual Ticket is associated with the Overwatch client. However, Diablo 3 players cannot redeem the pet on consoles. The Diablo 3 pet is only available on PC and Mac.

Virtual Tickets can be purchased directly from Blizzard Entertainment via the Battle.net Shop website. The listed goodies are not available in each game quite yet, but players can expect them to unlock as the BlizzCon 2016 date draws nearer. As the Inquisitr reported, owning a Virtual Ticket unlocks access to other purchases from the BlizzCon merchandise store. This storefront will open in October and close after BlizzCon 2016 ends.

Purchasing a Virtual Ticket also gives a buyer the ability to pick up additional items exclusive to both physical and digital attendees of the event from the Blizzard Gear Store. The BlizzCon Goody Bag in a Box includes, but is not limited to, World of Warcraft faction coasters, a Hearthstone cleaning cloth, and a BlizzCon X special stein. The stein in particular commemorates this year’s BlizzCon as the 10th convention held for Blizzard Entertainment’s popular titles.
