Keith Urban Admits To Conflict In Marriage While Nicole Kidman Shines And Gets Personal At TIFF

The rumors began to swirl recently about Australia’s most gorgeous and adorable couple, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. The two recently celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary and up to this point had appeared to the world as a solid duo who takes time for one another, even when their hectic schedules ramp up. One example of this was given by Nicole when she shared that for every night Keith is away on tour, he is sure to have a love letter at the ready.

Well, the bottom has begun to fall out of this long-lasting romance, so the rumor mill says, and the public first caught wind of this when Nicole Kidman showed up at the Toronto Film Festival solo. Celebrity Dirty Laundry shares details as to the apparent reasons Urban was a no-show at the notable festival to support his wife.

“Urban reportedly refused to go with his wife to TIFF as he declined to play Kidman’s games of image-making. This refusal to attend with her is his way of making it clear that ‘their marriage has been anything but smooth sailing.’ “

There have also been some reports that the pair has experienced some terrible fights lately, however, as Hits reminds, this is hardly grounds for divorce seeing as arguments are necessary and normal in solid relationships. The real reason Keith was not in attendance actually had to do with the fact that Nicole’s premiere for her movie Lion was on the same day as one of his shows five hours away. It is clear from Keith’s words about Nicole in a recent interview, that he is simply smitten and appreciative of his wife and that an argument or two is in no way a death sentence for their marriage.

“First and foremost, my marriage with Nic informs everything. Nic is so unbelievably open; she doesn’t keep things in or bottle them up. She’s a great communicator. Because of her, if I open up, every day, I’m listening and growing and learning. If I’m a better man, it’s because of her.”

Urban also shared about the message behind one of his singles, “Get Closer,” and how it is a direct connection to what he has learned from difficult times with Nicole.

“When things are tough or upsetting, it’s about pulling her close. That’s what she needs, and I had to learn it.”

Kidman attended the premiere for Lion over the past weekend and got personal when discussing the plot of the film, which focuses on the real-life story of a couple who adopts a five-year-old child after he was separated from his biological family in India. The actress who plays the lead in the film, stated how the plot hit too close to home. Nicole adopted two children with former husband Tom Cruise, and has also given birth to two girls, Faith and Sunday, since the divorce from the Top Gun star. Kidman speaks about how the film has related to her own life, as the Huffington Post relayed.

“For me, this is a film about the power of mothers, whichever form they come in, whether biological or adoptive. When you have good love like that, you flourish. However it comes your way, it comes. So it’s obviously emotional for me. I have adopted children and so this is sort of a love letter to them and at the same time for all… you have the need to have mothers, whether they’re biological — in any form, good love, nurturing, nourishing love is so good for any human being.”

As noted, since her divorce from Cruise, Kidman has found love again with Keith Urban and the two have expressed how true their bond is, regardless of the disagreements that might come. Urban hits home that the secret to making a relationship work is communication and understanding.
