Drake Robbed: Rapper Has $3 Million Worth Of Jewels Stolen From Tour Bus

The rapper got his start on Degrassi: The Next Generation, and in 2007, Drake left the show to record his first mix tape. The result was Room For Improvement, followed by the independent albums Comeback Season and So Far Gone. After signing on to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment, he started seeing commercial success. Thank Me Later debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. Drake’s net worth would only rise from there.

It’s mostly been Drake’s tendency to stay out of the social justice spotlight and accept the fame from his music career with his usual grace that has kept his reputation gaining steam. Even being involved with Rihanna, despite her troubles with the controversial Chris Brown, didn’t tarnish his reputation whatsoever.

The latest possible damage to Drake’s net worth occurred when the tour bus he was sharing with DJ Future the Prince was robbed. On Tuesday in Phoenix, Arizona, around $3 million worth of jewelry had been in a briefcase when a thief came along, and it went missing. The mystery was solved when police found footage of the suspect from surveillance cameras and arrested the alleged thief. The jewelry, though not belonging to Drake, was found after Travion King, 21, was jailed, says ABC News.

Drake’s net worth might not have taken much of a plunge after his tour bus was robbed. At most, it may have delayed or caused a stop on the tour to be canceled as police investigated the theft. It didn’t affect his career or earnings that much, as Drake’s current net worth sits at $88 million, according to Money Nation.

Drake’s actual bling wasn’t affected, and the “Hotline Bling” rapper will undoubtedly bounce back from this minor setback. His net worth is still below that of celebrities such as Kobe Bryant, Justin Bieber, and Miley Cyrus, while he reigns over Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, former opponent Bernie Sanders, and President Barack Obama.

Concert tours are currently the biggest source of Drake’s wealth, and the theft from his tour bus probably won’t even affect Drake’s net worth. The rapper continues to rake in the money with album sales, product endorsements, and multiple investments, with his current lifetime earnings sitting at approximately $168 million.
