Selena Gomez ‘Cuts Off’ Justin Bieber, Gets New Phone Number After Instagram Cheating Claims
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez recently shocked their fans and followers with an explosive battle on Instagram. During that fight, each accused the other of cheating. And although Selena initially apologized and Justin exited Instagram, the impact of that social media war may not be over, with a new report revealing that Gomez has deliberately changed her phone number so that Bieber can’t reach her.

Us Weekly reported that Selena is frustrated of being “hung up” on the Biebs. To change that situation, an insider told Us that Gomez made the phone change as a way of cutting off contact.
The pop princess has been struggling recently with her health, and revealed she is taking time off to deal with her “panic attacks and depression.”
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges,” explained Selena.
But did Bieber contribute to those emotional health issues?
In the wake of the Instagram fight, Selena wants nothing to do with Justin, according to a source cited by the Daily Mail. The couple were together from 2011 to 2015, and even after they broke up, some fans of Jelena (Justin + Selena) still hoped that they would rekindle their romance. But now that bitter war of words on Instagram seems to have dashed those hopes, with the insider revealing that Gomez went through the process of getting a new phone number to block Bieber from contacting her.
Selena recently canceled her “Revival Tour” in order to cope with depression related to lupus, and she’s also reportedly taking care of herself by preventing Justin’s calls. The 24-year-old “Good For You” singer even told her pals that if Bieber tries to get her new number from them, they should not forward it, according to the insider.
“She changed her phone number. And she told everyone not to give it to him.”
As for from whom Justin might try to get Gomez’s phone number, their friendship circles overlap, including the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan, Gigi Hadid, and Taylor Swift.
What caused the social media battle that reportedly caused Selena to become so upset that she wants to prevent Bieber from contacting her? The mid-August war began when Justin took to Instagram to complain that his fans were unkind to his new girlfriend, Sofia Richie, 18.
Gomez then unexpectedly turned to Instagram to throw shade, recommending that if Justin did not want to get negative feedback about Sofia, he should not post pictures of Richie. The insider cited by the Daily Mail revealed that the “Kill ‘Em with Kindness” singer’s Instagram attack on Bieber, 22, was the result of her emotional state.
“She lost it. She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”
During their Instagram battle, Gomez claimed that Bieber cheated on her when they were together. Justin battled back by hinting that she cheated on him with Gigi Hadid’s boyfriend Zayn Malik.

Selena subsequently apologized, but the Daily Mail reports that her decision to change her phone number in order to block him follows her attempts to cut off Justin “two or three times before.” The two had a volatile romance, with her album Revival causing rumors that her “Same Old Love” song was about what she viewed as a “toxic relationship” with Bieber. In turn, Justin crafted several songs inspired by his former girlfriend on his Purpose album, including “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean.”

When it comes to Gomez’s health issues that caused her to cancel her “Revival Tour,” In Touch cited an insider who described the singer as having a meltdown after she learned about Justin’s romance with Sofia.
While the Daily Mail’s source claims that Gomez has changed her phone number so that Bieber can’t contact her, In Touch’s source says that Selena was upset that she was being ignored by Justin.
“The more he ignored her, the more she freaked out.”
However, regardless of his past history with his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Bieber and his family still care about her health, according to the insider.
“Justin and his family are praying that she gets the help she needs,” revealed the source. “They just want Selena to get well.”
