Lady Gaga In Talks For Super Bowl 2017 Amid New Album Reports

Lady Gaga is officially in talks to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show, it has been confirmed.

Just weeks after Adele claimed she turned down the opportunity to headline next year’s gig, reports say that executives have been hunting down for the right artist they could see taking to the Super Bowl stage in February — leaving Lady Gaga as their top choice, Billboard adds.

The singer stunned viewers when she performed the National Anthem at the annual event earlier this year. In fact, her rendition was so well-received, Gaga’s name trended on every single social media platform, with many people commenting, saying they never knew the 30-year-old to be that much of a vocalist.

On top of that, Lady Gaga has already announced plans to released her highly anticipated forthcoming studio album later this year, following the release of the record’s first single “Perfect Illusion,” which premiered last week.

The platform that would see Gaga perform at next year’s Super Bowl would effortlessly blend in with her promotional plan that will most likely include a world tour by next summer.

Gossip Cop confirms that, while nothing has been confirmed just yet, Lady Gaga’s team and NFL executives are having advanced discussions concerning the singer’s potential chance of gracing the Super Bowl stage.

When media outlets asked for a statement regarding Lady Gaga allegedly being in the running to perform at next year’s Halftime Show, the NFL gave a statement, saying, “We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point, we do not have a final decision.”

Sources say that an official announcement won’t be made until late October or early November, but from how things are progressing, it’s definitely looking like Lady Gaga will bag herself the 15-minute performance set for next year’s Super Bowl.

Since the singer’s fans learned of Gaga’s chances of performing at next year’s Halftime Show, users have flooded the star’s Twitter timeline, sharing their excitement, and even tagging the official NFL account in their tweets, hoping that it’ll convince the execs that getting Gaga to headline the show will be a worthwhile decision.

Performing at the Super Bowl has done wonders for artists in recent years, and a great example of that would be with Beyonce, who found herself gracing the stage twice.

Earlier this year, when Bey returned for the second time, alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars, the singer announced that she was heading on the road again, confirming The Formation Tour was bound to kick off in April — and to no one’s surprise, tickets sold out in minutes.

It wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that Lady Gaga is hoping for the same outcome. Last week, she revealed the first single from her forthcoming studio album. It was positively received by critics, who labeled “Perfect Illusion” as daring and different from what the “Paparazzi” hitmaker has offered fans in the past.

The album, which is mainly being produced by Mark Ronson, will see its release later this year, Gaga has confirmed. All in all, the record’s release will smoothly tie in with Gaga’s potential Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, along with the possible announcement of a world tour.
