How To Watch Donald Trump Dr. Oz Interview On TV And Streaming: Trump To Discuss Medical History In ‘Complete Joke’ Interview

Just days after a highly-publicized medical episode involving his opponent Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump sits down with TV daytime talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz on Wednesday to discuss his own medical records and history — in an interview that is already being described as a “complete joke” as Oz has pledged to take it easy on Trump in the interview.

In an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday, Oz promised that he would not challenge Trump on portions of the Republican candidates’ records that he chooses not to release to the public, saying, “I’m not going to ask him questions he doesn’t want to have answered.”

The pledge by Dr. Oz to avoid uncomfortable questions for Trump came just hours before Newsweek writer Kurt Eichenwald announced on his Twitter feed Tuesday that his featured story in the news magazine Wednesday could include damaging information on Trump.

Since-deleted tweet from Newsweek writer Kurt Eichenwald on his Twitter account

In fact, on his Twitter account, the reporter said he believed that in 1990, Trump was institutionalized in a mental facility due to a “nervous breakdown,” and that embarrassing incident was why the 70-year-old New York businessman and reality TV star was opposed to releasing his medical information.

But Eichenwald deleted that Tweet about one hour after posting it on Tuesday afternoon, saying in a separate Tweet that the alleged “breakdown” would not be a topic of the Wednesday Newsweek story.

After Clinton’s episode on Sunday, as an apparent dizzy spell caused, her doctor said, by dehydration and a bout of walking pneumonia, Trump pledged to release more medical information about his own health this week, but the forum of a daytime TV talk show came as a surprise.

Oz claims that he will actually see the medical records before Trump sees them and will ask Trump “pointed questions” about what they contain, in some cases surprising Trump with the information.

But American Council on Science and Health President Hank Campbell blasted Oz as “unqualified” to scrutinize Trump’s medical records, and dismissed the Thursday interview — which will be taped in New York on Wednesday — as nothing more than a “fantastic public relations stunt by both Trump and Dr. Oz.”

“It’s another case of brilliant showmanship for both of them,” Campbell said. “All sizzle and no steak.”

So far, the only medical information that Trump has made public has been a brief letter penned by a doctor named Harold Bornstein, pictured in the tweet below, who admitted that he wrote the note in five minutes — but nonetheless felt able to describe Trump as “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” if indeed Trump wins the election.

“If you were looking for a glimpse into Trump’s medical background beyond what he wants you to hear, you’re not getting it on Thursday,” wrote the Huffington Post, which also called the Donald Trump appearance on Dr. Oz “a complete joke.”

“You won’t get Hillary Clinton’s bill of health, either, because she declined to be on the show,” the HuffPo article added.
