Johnny Depp Has Been ‘Unjustly Crucified,’ According To Marilyn Manson, And Why Depp’s Severed Head Appeared On ‘The Walking Dead’

Johnny Depp would probably say that he is currently navigating the worst phase of life as the actor recently faced grueling divorce proceedings following the breakdown of his relationship with Amber Heard, who had earlier accused the actor of domestic abuse.

But the Sleepy Hollow actor does still have at least one person on his side, although it may not be someone who’s opinions are going to be greatly valued by the public: Marilyn Manson.

Most recently, Christian Dior, the perfume house whose products are being endorsed by Johnny Depp, came under fire for hiring the actor as its brand ambassador. Several women’s groups are up in arms against the fashion house for collaborating with a celebrity who has been accused of domestic violence.

To make matters worse, last year the actor and his then-wife locked horns with the Australian government for breaching the bio-security rules after they smuggled his pet dogs into the country.

Perhaps partly for these reasons, the Donnie Brasco actor hasn’t been doing well in his professional career. The Lone Ranger and Dark Shadows, among his most recent films, failed at the box office, and many critics feel that the Hollywood star has been making bad career choices lately.

Now, given everything that’s happened in the life of the actor recently, it seems that audiences, female activists, and the public at large are treating Johnny Depp as an unpopular celebrity who has fallen into public disrepute. Recently, Johnny Depp’s difficult situation was aptly portrayed in a recent episode of Frank Darabont’s The Walking Dead, the American television series which tells the story of Rick Grimes who wakes up from his coma only to discover that the world is dominated by zombies.

Recently, one of the episodes of The Walking Dead showed a severed head that is modeled after Johnny Depp’s face. Surprisingly, Johnny’s gory cameo hasn’t led his fans to raise uproar against the producers of the popular television series that is well known for its brutality and violence. In fact, Norman Reedus, one of the protagonists on the show, has treasured Johnny Depp’s head as one of the collectibles in his dressing room. According to Screen Crush, Greg Nicotero, the executive producer of The Walking Dead, explained why one of the severed heads resembled the Dark Shadows actor.

“One of the other heads, I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp. I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp’s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt.”

Johnny Depp’s trouble is seeing no end as his dispute with Amber Heard continues to rage even after the couple agreed to the terms of the divorce settlement. According to Yahoo!, Amber Heard had planned to use the $9.2 million settlement amount to fund the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union in their respective causes and missions.

However, Amber Heard has now accused Johnny Depp was seeking tax benefits by directly paying the settlement amount to the charities through installments. Despite this growing unpopularity, Johnny Depp continues to enjoy the support of his loyal friends who still vouch for him.

Marilyn Manson, one of Johnny’s longtime friends, has wholeheartedly extended his support to the Sleepy Hollow actor, arguing that Depp is not facing any criminal charges and has not acted against public interests. Additionally, along with dismissing the allegations of domestic violence, the court has also dissolved the restraining order it had previously issued when Amber Heard had filed for divorce. Manson, who is a godfather to Johnny Depp’s daughter, has stated his opinion that the actor has played a significant role in grooming his children to become good members of society. According to People magazine, Marilyn Manson believes that the entire campaign against Johnny Depp has been blown out of proportion.

“Johnny is one of the nicest people that I know – to the extent where it’s almost heartbreaking how kind he is to his friends, and everyone around him. I know that he was completely crucified – unjustly.”

Marilyn Manson might not be the best character witness for Johnny Depp, however, as in 2001 Manson was charged for criminal sexual assault after rubbing his pelvis on a security guard’s head, according to All Womens Talk.
