Why Keith Urban And Nicole Kidman Did Not Attend The Toronto International Film Festival Together

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were not together at the Toronto International Film Festival. Ms. Kidman attended alone on both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, much has been made of that fact. Gossip is just spinning out of control. There are rumors of terrible arguments between Keith and Nicole.

Reports that Keith Urban flatly refused to attend Nicole’s premiere at the festival are going around and some are saying Keith and Nicole are going to divorce. Thankfully, rational publications like Gossip Cop are already sorting out the situation, which is, in this case, fairly obvious to figure out.

On Saturday Nicole Kidman attended the premiere of her new movie, titled simply Lion. The Premiere was held at the Toronto International Film Festival. On Sunday, Nicole held a press conference at the Film Festival to discuss Lion. In other words, Ms. Kidman was working, and despite the fact it was a red carpet event, she hardly needed a date. It is the twenty-first century, and women can go to career-related events without their husbands.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are both sensible adults, and the Toronto International Film Festival attendance or nonattendance is hardly grounds for divorce. That just sounds silly, especially for a couple like Keith and Nicole, who have been married for ten years and have children. Even if Keith had “refused” to attend, Nicole would hardly care all that much, but that isn’t the case.

Keith Urban, as it turns out, was working hard as well, with back to back concerts. According to the Taste of Country, Urban had concerts on both days, Nicole Kidman attended The Toronto International Film Festival. There is no way he’d be able to be there over the weekend. Keith was doing shows at least five hours away at the same time. Urban’s Ripcord Tour schedule for September looks like this:

September 10 — Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the Rogers Arena
September 11 — Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada at Prospera Place
September 13 — Prince George, British Columbia, Canada at the CN Centre
September 15 — Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the Scotiabank Saddledome
September 16 — Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at Rogers Place
September 17 — Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada at the SaskTel Centre

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were both working last weekend. Each had jobs to do, and both events have been scheduled well in advance. It seems likely that they are going to hook up after all the shows, and the Toronto International Film Festival premiere events to enjoy time together in Canada. At least that sounds more likely than some sort of marital dispute over a film festival.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have been married for ten years, as of June. Sure, Urban and Kidman had a few arguments early on, but after ten years the couple seems to be very stable, as Keith explains to Hits Daily Double. He says it was a lot like one of his songs.

“A lot of those really simple, tough lines in ‘The Fighter’ are straight from early in my relationship with Nic. I had such a learning curve in our marriage! When she’d get scared, I’d think she was angry; then I’d get defensive, go tearing out the driveway at 90 miles an hour. And that’s when it all gets pear-shaped.”

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have this marriage situation all figured out now, though, as Kieth explained.

“What she needs, and it’s all in the song, is for me to stay, to be close, to hear her. Get Closer: the album title alone was literally from this new awareness I had with this reality of how to react. When things are tough or upsetting, it’s about pulling her close. That’s what she needs, and I had to learn it,”

Urban doesn’t have another concert until October 6 when he will be in North Dakota. From then on his United States tour continues with 11 U.S. concerts in October. There is little more than travel time between the October tour dates so, Urban and Kidman will likely make the most of a nearly three weeks break in Canada.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman will have plenty of time to Get Closer after they fulfill their obligations at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Canadian Concerts.

Put simply, Kieth Urban and Nicole Kidman are not getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage because Keith didn’t attend the Toronto International Film Festival.
