Peta Murgatroyd Due Date, Baby Name Ideas Revealed Before ‘DWTS’ Premiere

Peta Murgatroyd’s due date is fast approaching! She and her beau, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, will be welcoming a baby boy into their lives in just a few more months!

The Dancing With The Stars pros were overjoyed to learn that they were expecting, finding out the news while Peta competed on last season of the popular dance competition show with her partner Nyle DiMarco.

Despite having some morning sickness and expected physical changes, Peta was able to coach Nyle right on to the finals, bringing home the Mirror Ball Trophy. Although Peta admits that she was nauseous “every single day,” she was able to keep working and she and Nyle totally rocked. Experiencing all of that while pregnant just took things to another level!

Peta Murgatroyd revealed her due date during her very first live Q&A on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. She also answered quite a few fan questions which you can check out in the video below.

“I am due January 2nd. So, it’s literally gonna be a little Maks. And this is something that we laugh about and we cry about…’Cuz everyone knows what Maks is like, I mean, it’s gonna be funny. And it’s gonna be amazing. This little boy is going to be absolutely beautiful,” Peta said.

After Peta Murgatroyd’s due date, she has about six months to get ready for her wedding day. She and Maks are planning on tying the knot in July in New York City. However, the couple is just taking things one day at a time. Right now, the couple is living in Los Angeles while Maks competes on Dancing With The Stars with Amber Rose. After the show (whenever their time is up), Peta and Maks will head back to New York City where they will prepare their home for their baby boy. Peta says that she doesn’t have a theme for the baby’s nursery, but she loves the colors taupe and ivory and wants to do things very neutral with simple pops of blue here and there.

For now, Peta and Maks are focused on DWTS while trying to choose a baby name after they hit a small snag.

“We did have a baby name, actually. It was gonna to be Kai. Because we have such a long middle name for him — it’s going to be Alexander — and we have Chmerkovskiy at the end. So, we need something short and strong. But our friend in New York recently had a little boy and named him Kai. I mean, out of all the names in the world to call your son, you call him our name. We were pretty devastated [about that]. So, we have to go back to the drawing board and think about something better than Kai now,” Peta explained.

Peta Murgatroyd’s due date allows her to stay in Los Angeles with Maks, and she even said that she’d be interested in guest judging the show — as Maks did when he took some time off. Peta just isn’t able to dance at such an intense level (which is required for the show), but she’s definitely feeling well enough to participate in any way that she can!

As far as her return to Dancing With The Stars, Peta says that she will need to play it by ear. She would have to start training about three weeks after giving birth, so she said that there’s a chance that she will take off one more season after welcoming her son.

“I do see myself coming back [to Dancing With The Stars], I just don’t know when,” Peta said. She will more than likely be cheering Maks and Amber on from the sidelines tonight!
