Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have had a very tumultuous public divorce, muddled by numerous theories and half truths. Their split is said to have been caused by Johnny becoming physically abusive towards Amber. The abuse allegations threatened to negatively affect both their careers as counter accusations flew. It also had their Hollywood associates split.

Now, however, someone closer to the action has come out to speak out about the controversial matter, and he is IO Tillet Wright. He lived for a year with the couple, up to the night of the unfortunate domestic violence incident. Wright was the person who called the police after watching Johnny Depp physically assault Amber Heard.

A co-host of the Suspect show on MTV, he talked about the assault during an interview with The Times, stating, “I’m not ever going to be one of them – I’m not ever going to be an A-list celebrity. But I chose to get involved in that situation because it was imperative to say what I thought was right”.

He also spoke about his relationship with Johnny Depp after he called the cops on him, saying, “It’s a tough thing. My attitude about that is the same as the attitude about my parents. People are very rarely bad people. People have things that happen to them, and people have pain that they’re trying to get around… Everybody is trying to dance with their pain and sometimes it’s, who do you stab in the process?”

According to a report by the Sun, close friends of the couple were first made aware of their split two days after the Australian dog smuggling case in which Amber was charged. The case is said to have upset Johnny Depp, as it made him a subject of mockery. The following was the exact statement related to this as revealed by a Hollywood insider who spoke to the site.

“We were first made aware of the split two days after their infamous apology video, shown to an Australian court to express their sorrow for smuggling pet dogs Boo and Pistol Down Under last year. Friends close to the couple said they hoped their marriage could be saved with counselling. But their efforts were all in vain. Johnny has had enough

… After months of blazing rows, Johnny and American Amber’s troubles came to a head one evening toward the end of last month, shortly after the embarrassing apology video was mocked across the world. He had decided to quit drinking in favour of smoking cannabis on a daily basis — a habit Amber resents and which is potentially a reason for his erratic behaviour in public.”

Amber Heard’s partying is also said to have gotten to Johnny. She loved parties, and he was the indoors type. According to the insider, a typical evening for Johnny would be spending time with a few friends, having a smoke and watching old movies. Amber Heard is said to have realized late into their relationship that she had gotten him at the wrong stage in his life as socially; they were on completely different levels.

On one occasion, Amber Heard is said to have invited friends over to the house for a party. At the time, Johnny was staying at the residence due to a film he was doing nearby. At some point, he was reported to have flipped over the situation because of the noise, which made it hard to sleep. The couple are said to have engaged in a heated exchange over it in front of guests.

Both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have now moved on, with the 7 million dollar divorce settlement she requested being donated to charity.
