Anna Camp And Skylar Astin’s Wedding Became The ‘Pitch Perfect’ Reunion We’ve All Been Waiting For

Cue the aca-awesome jokes, in true Hollywood fashion, at least for celebrities, life ended up imitating art when Anna Camp and Skyler Astin, the stars of the hit 2012 movie Pitch Perfect, got married yesterday. The two started to date back in 2013 after they met during filming, and their outdoor wedding ceremony on the central California coast turned into one giant awesome (insert aca based on own excitement) reunion of the cast.

In Pitch Perfect while playing Aubrey, a singer and very uptight co-leader of the a capella group the Bellas, Anna Camp demanded that all members of the club ensure that they not become romantically involved with any of the guys from the Treblemakers who were their competitors and an all-male group. Camp’s new husband, Astin, played one of the men on the Treblemakers who eventually ended up in a relationship with one of the Bellas. It seems that even Camp fell prey to the charm that Skyler Astin brought to his musical role.

In an interview that Camp did back in 2014 with Glamour, the budding romance between the two co-stars started a little after Camp had gotten divorced and Astin had been dating someone else as well. The fact that both Astin and Camp were Libras, is also said to have given the new husband a hand in his wife considerations on whether or not to go out with him. Cut to New Year’s 2016 and the two got engaged in Hawaii.

“We were friends first and just hit it off… He was dating somebody, and I had been through [a divorce] and he was like, ‘Do you want to go on a date?’ I remember thinking, well, he’s younger than me. He’s five years younger. He’s 26, and I’m 31. But I was like, ‘You know what? OK! Let’s do it, let’s see.’ He’s literally my best friend.”

Before the event started some of the Pitch Perfect cast took to Instagram to document their excitement for the wedding day and of course, the reunion of some great friends. Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2′s Elizabeth Banks, Brittney Snow, and Rebel Wilson were more than happy to indulge their fans on their social media with a little silliness before the wedding and reunion.

Camp had previously described her vision for the big day with her wearing “different shades of pinks and peach. I want the colors to feel very nature-friendly, but very vibrant and lively. It’s fresh and also romantic. I want it to feel like you’re walking into Romeo and Juliet’s beautiful fantasy.”

People wrote that the bride was radiant in a Reem Acra dress that was paired with Vince Camuto shoes and jewels by Neil Lane and the wedding band that Anna Camp wore was from Lorraine Schwartz. The groom spiced his classic black suit with a bow tie and by wearing Ermenegildo Zegna made-to-measure with Aldo shoes while the groomsmen wore Men’s Warehouse. The bridesmaids were elegant in Theia and Aldo Shoes.

Rebel Wilson posted the perfect picture to her Instagram of the cast members during their reunion to celebrate the wedding between their friends and former cast mates.

Hopefully, the wedding went off smoother than coming up with a routine for an a cappella mash-up at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals. Although if the praises that Ben Platt, who played Benji in Pitch Perfect sang about the wedding it would seem that it truly was an aca-awesome day for Camp and Astin after all. Sharing a picture of himself and Skyler Astin after it seems the wedding was over, Platt called the whole thing perfect.

“My beautiful roomie with a beautiful soul married his beautiful bride and it was perfect.”
