Chris Brown may be turning a blind eye to reports suggesting that Rihanna and Drake are heating up their rekindled romance but according to sources close to Breezy, it appears that the “Grass Ain’t Greener” singer isn’t convinced that his former girlfriend is truly smitten by the “One Dance” rapper.
It’s been two weeks since Rihanna and Drake sent dating rumors into overdrive at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, where Drake publicly declared his love for Rihanna prior to presenting her with MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and although the duo has not personally confirmed the status of their rumored relationship, sources close to Chris Brown suggest that the singer is skeptical of the hype surrounding Rihanna and Drake’s romance.
Speaking to Urban Islandz, alleged sources close to Chris Brown suggest that the singer is not convinced that Rihanna is truly “in love” or smitten by the “Child’s Play” rapper despite the duo’s’ recent public displays of affection.
“Breezy knows [Rihanna] and he knows that she is not in love with [Drake] like the way he is with her,” Brown’s source revealed to the site before suggesting that Drake is trying too hard to thrust the duo’s romance into the spotlight. “Drake is trying hard to get Rihanna to love him but you can’t force love and she will always love Chris Breezy and there is no doubt about that.”
While Chris Brown hasn’t personally commented on Rihanna’s new relationship with Drake, the “Back To Sleep” singer did recently shut down rumors suggesting that Drake threw shade at him on Instagram stemming from a tribute post that Brown shared to his personal Instagram account last week.
Amid rumors suggesting that Lil Wayne may be retiring from hip-hop, Chris Brown took to Instagram last Sunday to give praise to the rapper while referring to Wayne as his inspiration. Shortly after Brown uploaded his post to the site, Drake took to Instagram to share his own tribute message to Lil Wayne while also seemingly taking aim at Chris Brown over his words of encouragement to the rapper.
“The boss @liltunechi. We are fighting until you get yours. Freedom to drop music and peace of mind,” Drake began in his Instagram post regarding the Lil Wayne retirement rumors. “I don’t know what these other weirdos are on with all the side talks but I know you gave me a shot and all I can ever do with the rest of my life is return the favor. YOUNG MONEY FOREVER.”
Once fans began tagging Chris Brown in Drake’s post alongside speculative comments suggesting that the duo may still have hard feelings towards one another given their past with Rihanna, Brown took to Instagram once again to shut down the feud rumors while urging fans to “stay classy” amid the ongoing rumors, Baller Alert reports.
“Y’all comments be funny. Making an issue outta nothing. Everybody know I don’t have any issues @ing someone I had an issue wit. My post was for HIP HOP!!! This ain’t love and hip hop. *thumbs up emoji* stay classy,” Brown wrote.
While sources suggest that Chris Brown remains skeptical of Drake and Rihanna’s romance, Drake’s own father seemingly questioned the nature of Drake’s relationship with Rihanna after telling TMZ that the duo is nothing more than longtime friends.
“They’re friends, they’ve been friends for years,” Dennis Graham told the site on Wednesday. When pressed about whether or not the duo is looking to settle down in the near future, Graham further told the site, “I don’t know about settling down. No, they’re friends. There’s no relationship, they’re friends.”
