Ciara and Future are one couple that has had a very dramatic twist in their relationship. Having first met in 2012 while working together, they had a whirlwind romance that lasted two years. At the time, Future released a remix of her songs “Sorry” and “Body Party.” By April 2013, she was gushing about him, publicly stating that he was “an amazing guy.” The following was her statement related to this as reported by E Online.
“He is an amazing guy. He is really a gentleman and I don’t want to say too much, and then he’s like, ‘Babe, you’re saying a whole lot,’ but he really is just an amazing man. It’s like when we were working on the personal side of things, I really saw an amazing person and the way that he approached me since day one is just the way a man is supposed to be from my perspective.”
Ciara talked about their unique connection, revealing that she didn’t expect a relationship to blossom out of their collaboration in the studio, saying that it was all organic.
This was while speaking to Hot 107.9. Ciara also told MTV that she had nothing to hide and saw nothing peculiar about speaking about her love for Future in the public domain. The following was her statement in regard to this.
“When you do step outside, you put yourself in a position to where people are going to be able to judge and they could criticize and they can give their opinion and that’s something I used to always fear… I’m running toward my fear, running towards the things that make me uncomfortable because I feel like if I live my life based off of those things, I won’t live my life how I’m supposed to. I won’t live it to the fullest.”
Having split two years ago, their disagreements are very much alive with Future dissing Ciara on numerous occasions. The cause of their breakup was initially said to be Future’s infidelity. But from his side of the story, he explained during an interview with the Huffington Post last year that they simply grew apart. The following was his revelation.
“Everybody already had their speculation on what happened. A lot of people said, ‘Man, he cheated.’ But our relationship had nothing to do with cheating. We grew apart. As a man, you want to make decisions for your family, and sometimes the lady doesn’t see what you see. I called [the engagement] off long before any cheating rumors came out. I was like, ‘This isn’t going to work out.'”
This is as reported by US Magazine. Just a few days ago, Future released a song titled “How It Feel” that seemingly featured lyrics directed at Ciara. On the song produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, he talks about sex and marijuana, and makes references at his contribution to Ciara’s musical success in the following lines.
“I made it, you bi**h / I made you, bi**h… Bi**h, you was nothing before me / I gave you fame on the ‘gram / I put you back on the charts / I got you a No. 1 spot.”
The rift between the two has become quite dramatic in the past months and in February this year, Ciara had to file a defamation lawsuit against her ex-husband. This was after Future issued an indirect threat to Russell Wilson, Ciara’s ex, in an O.J. Simpson murder trial-based song called “Juice”. The following lines were the most controversial.
“Tryin’ to f**k my baby mama, dog what’s up with you? You gon’ make me get a heat, I’m pullin’ up on you.”
It remains to be seen whether Ciara and Future will be able to solve their relationship problems in the long term.
