Online voting will soon be available for Brazil’s Miss Bumbum best booty contest. More than 500 competitors typically enter each year for the ultra-popular contest. The contestants are eventually narrowed down to 27 finalists, one of Brazil’s Federal Units. Online voters determine 15 finalists who get to travel to Sao Paolo in November to compete for the best booty crown, according to the New York Daily News.
Brazil’s 2011 Miss Bumbum, Rosana Ferreira, credits ballet for helping her get her shapely bottom. During the grand finale of the annual contest, a panel of judges will scrutinize each contestant’s booty and determine the new queen, the Huffington Post notes.
The Bumbum website encourages each participant to show their talent and represent the “national passion” during their time on stage. The event website also claims that a recent Spanish survey indicates that 81 percent of men favor women with curves and are couldn’t care less about cellulite.
Oddee editor and writer Graciela Murano had this to say about the annual cutest derriere contest during an interview with the Huffington Post:
“Brazilians definitely have a thing with butts. Every woman has read about it and won’t admit it, and every man’s dream is to be a part of the judging team.”
The Brazilian bountiful bottoms contest is a relatively new national event, but has alredy attracted nationwide attention, TNT Magazine reports. Buttock implants are strictly against the rules, but it is not immediately clear how the judges will determine if a Brazilian Miss Bumbum contestant is displaying a naturally obtained booty, or a surgically enhanced one.
