Ever since Miley Cyrus rekindled her romance with Liam Hemsworth earlier this year, fans assumed that the pop star was going to tame her wild ways. Now that she is set to become the new coach on NBC’s The Voice, it doesn’t look like she’s changing for anyone.
Miley Cyrus has always made it known that she has a love for marijuana. Just check out her infamous Instagram page and her free Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz EP, in which she talks about her love for the plant-based drug. Friday, Sept. 9 was not any different when Cyrus, 23, was seen wearing a pair of leggings that featured cannabis leaves while shopping with a friend in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Mail.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer also wore a pair of cannabis leaf earrings as she pulled up her blonde hair into her signature topknot. Miley pulled her look together with a white long-sleeved crop top, a gold choker necklace, a white dollar sign-emblazoned handbag, and red sneakers. Miley looked like her typical wild child self as she held her hand up in the air while crossing the rocky road. She also looked happy with the purchase she made, as she was carrying a large brown paper bag.
This comes after the speculation that Cyrus may have to give up her raunchy sense of style to be a longtime coach on the upcoming season of The Voice, which premieres on Monday, Sept. 19. According to PJ Media, NBC had shock jock Howard Stern clean up his pouty mouth before he became a judge on America’s Got Talent.
Will the same happy for Miley Cyrus? Not exactly. In late August, stylist Simone Harouche told The Hollywood Reporter that Cyrus will not tone down her outlandish style for the show. She’s been working with the singer on her looks, which she hopes will appeal to a younger audience.
“I think a large portion of Miley’s audience has always been a younger demographic. If any age group would relate to her fashion sense, it would be her peers. Miley is always going to be true to herself, regardless of the event or show.”
Most of Cyrus’s looks on the show will be a mix of vintage and custom-designed pieces, along with some of the pieces that Harouche will make for her. She also revealed that Cyrus is very much involved with the collaborative process and that she has especially chosen some designs for herself.
“Miley is very true to herself and she knows what she wants. A lot of times, we bounce off ideas to come up with a new look. It’s always fun and I get to be creative and really go there.”
Fans assumed that Cyrus was also going to tone down her look since reuniting with former flame Liam Hemsworth. That’s certainly not the case since the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer was spotted wearing an interesting outfit when the couple attended Drake’s Los Angeles concert on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Cyrus and Hemsworth, 29, were joined by Jaden Smith and Cyrus’s older sister, Brandi.
According to Hollywood Life, Cyrus wore her blonde hair in corn rows in addition to her gold chain necklace and red bandana-style top. She paired her odd look with low-slung jeans that revealed her black boy briefs underneath. Meanwhile, Hemsworth kept it simple in a bomber jacket, which he paired with a black T-Shirt and matching dark jeans. He finished off his monotone look with a black baseball cap and bomber jacket.

Despite her rekindled romance and new hosting gig, Cyrus is still keeping it real on Instagram. She’s still real, raunchy, and wild, according to E! Online. Cyrus still posts photos of herself smoking marijuana or flaunting her bikini body. She wears whatever she wants and will do whatever she wants while still achieving success in her career and personal life.
It’s obvious that the former Disney star has talent despite her bizarre behavior. She’s also set to co-star in Woody Allen’s upcoming Amazon series, Crisis in Six Scenes, which is set to premiere this September.
