Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has become a new mom as she and her husband welcomed a baby boy Sunday night.

In addition to her new role as Yahoo’s recently announced “turnaround CEO,” Mayer will be taking on the role of “mom” as she and husband Zach Bogue welcomed their first child on either September 30 or October 1, reports the Wall Street Journal. Bogue, a Silicon Valley investor, announced the baby news via Twitter, notes VentureBeat.

Shortly after announcing her new role as the chief executive of Yahoo, Mayer confirmed her pregnancy in a Fortune piece in July. She continued working into the final weeks of her pregnancy and admitted that she wouldn’t be taking much time off for maternity leave:

“My maternity leave will be a few weeks long, and I’ll work throughout it,” she said.

A Yahoo spokesperson confirmed that this is still the plan with a statement to MarketWatch:

“Both Marissa and baby are healthy and the family is very excited.” Mayer will be “working remotely and is planning to return to the office as soon as possible, likely in 1-2 weeks,” the rep said.

Mayer is being closely-watched thanks to her role as “savior” of Yahoo, a company plagued with troubles lately, as it has consistently failed to secure a long-term CEO and lay out a vision for the future of the company. Yahoo has seen numerous CEOs come and go in the past several years, from Scott Thompson, who resigned over resume disputes, to interim CEO Ross Levinsohn. The pressure on Mayer is palpable, but the new mom has shown genuine resolve as she plots a course for Yahoo in the years to come.
