Epcot’s 30th Anniversary Celebrated At Disney

Epcot’s 30th Anniversary is being celebrated all throughout the day on Monday with guests at the Florida-based theme park being able to take a special look at the park’s history.

Dubbed the D23 Epcot Anniversary Celebration, the event is more of an informative look at the history of the famous structure than an all out celebration bash.

Visitors to the theme park will be given a behind-the-scenes look at the park’s history for the entire week.

If you happen to be at Disney today, you can listen to a panel of Disney Imagineers talk about the history of “building tomorrow’ at 1 pm, a discussion that takes place at the World Showplace.

At 3 pm on Monday, a special “anniversary moment” will also take place at America Gardens Theater where Mariachi Cobre and Voices of Liberty will perform a free show for park visitors.

The anniversary moment will be followed by a Marty-Sklar-led discussion about Disney World’s impact on the world. The Sklar-led discussion will happen twice at 4:30 pm and then 6:30 pm.

As expected, Disney will also attempt to capitalize on the Epcot 30th Anniversary celebration as much as possible, offering various pieces of limited time only merchandise that Disney visitors can purchase throughout the park.

Can you believe that Disney’s Epcot center has now been standing for 30 years? All I can remember from the giant globe and visiting it in my childhood was the three hour wait to walk around an informative exhibit when I wanted to be on Splash Mountain.
