Broncos suspend Marshall for rest of pre-season

On Thursday the Denver Broncos suspended Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall for the rest of the pre-season. Marshall will be eligible to return to the team September 6th to get prepared for the first game of the regular season. The team felt they had to make this move in response to a bad attitude displayed by Marshall and several incidents that occurred over the course of Wednesday’s team practices. Really though this is something that has been brewing for the entire summer.

During team practices on Wednesday Marshall was displaying a poor attitude, and swatted away a few balls thrown in his direction. He then reportedly picked up a ball and punted it away. This was the latest move by Marshall who is unhappy with his contract and has demanded that the team trade him.

The team felt this move was necessary to send a clear message to their player. Marshall is a Broncos he remains under contract and the Broncos expect him to return as part of this team. They took this action with the support and blessing of the NFL.

With all of that being said the Broncos have probably made this situation worse. they have a disgruntled star receiver who has outplayed his contract. If the team had felt he had underplayed his contract they would have cut him. Marshall seems frustrated at the prospect of playing 2009 without a fair deal.

Of course this is not the way to conduct one’s self. Marshall is going to have to realize he is only hurting himself as no team is going to want to rade for him and his poor attitude.
