Miranda Lambert Releases ‘Vice’ Music Video, Leaves Blake Shelton Divorce Behind

Miranda Lambert leaves her past behind in her latest music video for her chart-topping single, “Vice.”

In the new clip, which was released to fans on September 7, Miranda Lambert is seen emerging from a car wreck after her vehicle was left upside down and leaking fluids.

As Miranda Lambert makes her way out of the car and puts her cowboy boot back on, she sings her first post-divorce track, which many believe was inspired by her ex-husband, Blake Shelton, and the end of their romance. After putting herself back together, Miranda Lambert ventures off into a quaint town where she proceeds to take a shot with a bartender before returning to the scene of the accident, where a black Cadillac without a driver picks her up and drives her off into the sunset.

“Vice” was Miranda Lambert’s first single since her fifth studio album in 2014, Platinum, and was written by Lambert, Josh Osbourne, and Shane McAnally. Below are some of the lyrics of the song.

“Another call, another bed I shouldn’t crawl out of
At 7 AM with shoes in my hand
Said I wouldn’t do it, but I did it again
And I know I’ll be back tomorrow night, oh.”

Miranda Lambert released her single this past July, just about one year to the day that she and Shelton announced they had put an end to their marriage after just four years together. At the time of their split, rumors regarding possible infidelity on both sides surfaced, but no evidence of any wrongdoing was ever shared.

In the months after their breakup, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton both moved on. In November, 2015, Shelton went public with his romance with Gwen Stefani, whom he was starring alongside on The Voice, and in January of this year, Miranda Lambert and her boyfriend, Anderson East, confirmed their relationship with a photo post on Instagram.

Two months ago, after “Vice” was released, Miranda Lambert shared a screenshot of the single at the top of the charts on iTunes and shared a message with her fans about the emotional track on Instagram.

“The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing,… Of learning to be honest…. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places… having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them,” Miranda Lambert wrote. “I got to know my guitars…became friends with a pencil and paper… Used melodies to lead me places I had never been…. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey.”

While Miranda Lambert went through a rough time after her split from Shelton in 2015, she appears to be in a great place currently. In addition to the exciting upcoming release of her new album later this year, Miranda Lambert seems completely happy in her new romance with East and months ago, a source told E! News that the couple has a “crazy connection” to one another.

The source went on to reveal that Miranda Lambert “adores” her boyfriend and said that when they are together, they act like free spirits.

“Anderson and [Miranda Lambert] are serious,” added the source. “They have met both sides of their families. Both their families love what they have. They seem like they are in such a great place.”
