‘Stranger Things 2’: Everything We Know, Plus, Fun Things Related To The Show That Will Keep You Busy For A While
Even though it has been nearly two months since Stranger Things dropped on Netflix, fans are still desperate to find out everything they can about the hit show set in the ’80s. So here’s all the best stuff we found on the internet about Stranger Things.
Stranger Things will be returning for Season 2 in 2017. This will be a sequel rather than a complete continuation of Season 1. There will be some of the same characters as well as at least four new ones. Included in the new characters will be a tomboy named Max and her older brother, Billy. So at least the theme of being based on a childhood perspective of the supernatural will still likely remain.
While Stranger Things 2 will take place in Hawkins and involve the original characters, there is one character in particular that fans want to see more of — even though she died in Season 1. The Duffer brothers confirmed in an interview with NME that there will certainly be “justice for Barb” in Season 2 of Stranger Things.
“We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it. It’s not like her parents are like ‘Oh Barb left. She died!'”
As for the other female character whose fate is still up in the air, there has been no definitive answer as to whether Eleven will return in Stranger Things 2. It was pointed out by Matt Duffer in an interview with IGN that the great thing about working within the sci-fi genre is that “you’re not boxed in, narratively” when there is a portal to another dimension involved. The show’s producer, Dan Cohen, also revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that they didn’t want to reveal too much to fans desperate for information on Season 2 because it will “make for a less satisfying second season” if they revealed too much before the show’s premiere in 2017.

“When terrifying supernatural forces once again begin to affect Hawkins, they realize Will’s disappearance was only the beginning. And so the adventure continues…”
Season 2 will take place roughly a year later than the events that occurred in Season 1 of Stranger Things.
But what can you do while you wait on more news for Stranger Things 2? Here’s a quick list of ideas.
- Buy the Stranger Things soundtrack on vinyl. Because nothing is more authentically ’80s than listening to synthesizer music on a record player. Well, except for maybe putting your cassette player up against the TV and recording it onto a tape. According to Pitchfork, the vinyl version of the Stranger Things soundtrack will be released in the U.S. by Lakeshore Records on October 28.
- If you can’t wait that long for the soundtrack to drop on vinyl, there are plenty of awesome versions of the title music to be found on places like YouTube and SoundCloud. Our favorites at the moment are the a Capella version and the Twin Peaks mashup, Stranger Peaks.
- While not officially confirmed yet, Funko Pop have made the following announcements via their Twitter account in regards to producing Stranger Things pop vinyls.

- Merchandise is always a winner for shows such as Stranger Things. While there is not a lot of official merchandise out there yet, Nerdist did compile a pretty comprehensive list of Eggos-related products. This includes an Eggos syrup dispenser and waffle socks.
- Infamous Quests have also released an unofficial point and click adventure game based on Stranger Things.
