Did Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album sound a little familiar? The rapper is being sued over his 2010 album for stealing samples from New Orleans artist Eddie Bo.

According to Billboard, TufAmerica claims that West sampled a portion of Bo’s Hook and Sling, Part 1 on two My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy songs. TufAmerica claims that they bought the rights to Bo’s song more than 15 years ago. The sample in question can be heard on Who Will Survive in America? and Lost in the World. 

TufAmerica says that West’s label and Universal Music Group paid a $62,500 license fee to use the song but did not agree to having the sample used multiple times. The lawsuit says that West and Universal ”failed and refused to enter into written license agreements that accounted for their multiple other uses of ['Hook and Sling'].” And since the sample is heard multiple times on the album TufAmerica is suing for damages.

It’s unclear how much the group is asking for.

Idolator reports that this isn’t the first time that West has been accused of stealing a sample. Last year West and Jay-Z were accused of stealing from Syl Johnson for The Joy off of the Watch The Throne album.
