Katie Holmes Can’t Publicly Date Jamie Foxx Until 2017? Tom Cruise Divorce May Ban Boyfriends

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are reportedly forbidden from dating until next year.

According to a new report, Katie Holmes’ divorce from Tom Cruise states that she can’t officially “date” anyone until 2017, so when it comes to her and Foxx’s potential romance debut, fans may have to wait for at least a few more months.

“[Katie Holmes] signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source explained to Radar Online on September 5.

According to the source, Katie Holmes is allowed to have relationships with men, but when it comes to going public with Foxx or anyone else, she isn’t supposed to do so in public. Nor is she allowed to have her daughter, Suri Cruise, around any of her boyfriends.

“[Katie Holmes]’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider explained. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”

In the years that followed Katie Holmes’ split from Tom Cruise, she’s been asked about her dating life many times but always keeps her private life to herself. During one particular interview, Katie Holmes was questioned about a potential boyfriend and responded, “That’s not something I want to answer!”

However, as Radar Online pointed out, Katie Holmes has been seeing Foxx since 2013, and his friend, Claudia Jordan, formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, recently said they are “really happy.”

“He is very happy with [Katie Holmes]. I like that he seems very happy,” Jordan said, according to a report by E! News.

During a radio interview, Jordan dropped the news but quickly backtracked after her comments went viral, claiming that she does not know anything about Foxx’s potential romance with Katie Holmes.

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx also nearly blew their cover last month when they attended a Barbra Streisand’s concert in New York. During the show, Katie Holmes openly cheered for Foxx as he performed with the iconic singer and later joined him in his dressing room.

“They figured it wasn’t a violation of the public rule because security prevented photos. They were so discreet,” the source Radar Online source claimed.

Meanwhile, Cruise is reportedly unconcerned with the behavior of his ex-wife.

“At this point, Tom doesn’t care much what [Katie Holmes] does,” the insider said. “But he wouldn’t mind getting his $5 million back!”

If Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx did go public with their relationship before 2017, noted the outlet, the actress would be forced to hand back the $5 million.

While Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have done their best to keep their relationship on the down low for the past three years, they have been targeted by ongoing rumors regarding their relationship, some of which have claimed that they are secretly married and others have claimed Holmes is pregnant with their child.

Some reports have even suggested that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are no longer dating. In July, prior to the couple’s appearance at Barbara Streisand’s show, Life & Style claimed Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx had ended their three-year relationship “recently.” In turn, Gossip Cop claimed they were never dating at all.
