Serena Williams’ Boyfriend Alexis Ohanian Provides Little Instagram And Twitter Support For US Open 2016 After Wimbledon And Olympics

Serena Williams is supposedly dating boyfriend Alexis Ohanian, but that would be hard to tell from her Instagram and Twitter account. He was much more active on his social media accounts when she was competing in Wimbledon, but after her short campaign in the Rio Olympics, he has not been quick to support her via Instagram or Twitter. Is Alexis holding back on his enthusiasm until she gets farther along in US Open 2016?

The first time that Serena and Alexis were spotted on a date was when a stranger swiped her phone from a restaurant table. She immediately became viral when she chased him, talked him down and took the phone away from the robber without a physical confrontation. During that meal, Alexis Ohanian was supposedly sitting opposite her, enjoying a nice evening.

Since then, they have made some efforts to make their relationship somewhat public. As he is the founder of Reddit, he could not help but to post about her on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

When Serena Williams equaled Steffi Graff’s Open Era record by winning the Wimbledon championship this year, he posted about it several times.

Even when she failed to progress far in the Rio Olympics this year, he made sure to note on his Twitter that she still is one of the greatest players alive.

After her devastating loss, Alexis tweeted, “Tough loss for the #WilliamsSisters. Still the greatest. #Rio2016.”

And now that they are in the swing of things at US Open 2016, he might have to start showing his support for his girlfriend. With Serena Williams breaking all sorts of records on the court, he probably won’t want to miss history in Arthur Ash stadium!

“Williams’ easy-as-pie 6-2, 6-1 victory over Johanna Larsson of Sweden Saturday at the US Open added yet another mile marker to her very crowded interstate,” reports Yahoo! “With it, she posted the 307th Grand Slam tournament match victory of her career, which moves her one ahead of Martina Navratilova for the most ever by a female player.”

When she was asked about setting yet another world record, the world number one did not downplay her achievements.

“Actually, it was a really good feeling, I have to say,” she said. “It is actually a really good feeling. So to be up there with both men and women is something that’s super rare, and it actually feels good. I was really excited to reach that, was it 306? 307? I was really excited to do that. Something I didn’t even know about until Wimbledon. I was like, ‘Oh, I have a new goal’ “That was pretty cool for me. Obviously I want to keep that number going higher and see what can happen.”

Even though Alexis Ohanian did not post about US Open 2016 yet, the pinned tweet on his Twitter is still the 73 Questions Serena Williams did for Vogue Magazine. Ironically enough, in the interview, she revealed something about their romantic relationship that he should probably note.

When the interviewer asked what the most romantic thing that a guy has ever done for her, she promptly responded, “it hasn’t happened yet.”

But during the interview, when it came to naming her favorite app, Serena didn’t hesitate to answer that it was Reddit, which her boyfriend created. At least she fully supports his endeavors!

According to his Instagram account, Alexis Ohanian revealed that he is in New York, which means that he is just a short taxi ride from US Open stadiums in Queens. With his girlfriend progressing into the fourth round of the Grand Slam tournament, he better have his courtside tickets ready!
