Rita Ora Goes From Saint To Bad Girl Within A Few Hours

Rita Ora is quite the cheeky celebrity. She knows when she has to be on her best behavior, but she also knows when to cut loose. Last week, it was announced that the British singer would sing for Pope Francis at The Vatican.

Ora, 25, is usually known for her racy photo shoots and sexy attire. So, she had to cover up and act like a good girl when she performed for the Pope. During her interview with Jimmy Fallon, Ora recalled the time that she received the shocking news. Ora was even more covered up in usual in her black fringe crop top and matching flared pants.

“I’m going to the Vatican, I leave tomorrow! I’m more of a spiritual person, so the Vatican I figured out is actually a big deal,” the pop star joked to Fallon, reports Spin.com. “I looked at the guest list and I saw P.O.P.E…..Pope?! It’s a real honor and I don’t know if anyone’s done the whole Vatican venue thing before, it’s a bit interesting that the Vatican’s someone’s venue but it’s going to be fantastic.”

The former X Factor U.K. host sang “What Child Is This?” at the vigil for Mother Teresa’s canonization in Rome on Saturday, Sept. 3, reports the Mirror. While it was originally assumed that the Pope would be among the famous guests to attend the ceremony, it has been reported that he was not spotted at the Papal Basilica of St. Paul.

Before her career-making performance, Ora tweeted: “Singing What Child Is This to celebrate her life and legacy will be a moment I cherish forever.”

Some are surprised to find that Ora was chosen over Beyoncé and Adele, but she was chosen because she was born in Kosovo as Mother Teresa was also born in a Kosovan territory. Ora was photographed wearing a black gown that featured a lace bodice and tulle ballroom skirt. Ora also wore a black lace veil on her head, much like the veil that Mother Teresa wore. She looked very much like a saint during her performance.

Before her performance, she spoke out about Mother Teresa as well as her life, work, and canonization.

“Tonight on the eve of the canonisation of Mother Teresa, we, the daughters and sons by blood and soul, are here to honour and express our gratitude to her outstanding life and work dedicated to the poorest people of the world. A humble woman managed to united all mankind without any discrimination, based only on the power of faith and love. The concert and your presence shows it better than anything else. Our concert is a journey, an itinerary, an expression of gratitude through music. This can be summarised by one quote of Mother Teresa herself: ‘It is only love that will save the world’.”

Within a matter of a few hours, Ora was back to her bad girl ways. Singer Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, revealed to People about her wild nights out with Rita Ora, who lent her vocals to XCX’s sexy song “Doing It” last year.

“I love hanging out with Rita – she is probably like my only famous friend or whatever. She just feels like someone I grew up with – she’s very down to earth and I love that. She knows how to party.”

When asked about their wild nights out, the 24-year-old confessed to the time the duo crashed an 18-year-old’s house party.

“We just showed up and took over their house, and they were like, ‘What the f*** is going on?'” she laughed.

The “Vroom Vroom” singer also revealed that she loves to wear bikinis and miniskirts as part of her summer ensemble. By seeing Ora’s Instagram page, it looks like she follows the same uniform.
