Johnny Lewis Probation Report: Actor Was Mentally Ill, Nearly Homeless And Addicted To Drugs

Johnny Lewis, the Sons Of Anarchy actor who killed his 81-year-old landlady and then took his own life was mentally unstable, nearly homeless and addicted to drugs according to a probation report filed against the actor last spring.

According to the May 17 filing Johnny Lewis “suffers from some form of chemical dependency, mental health issue and a lack of permanent housing. Given this, (Lewis) will continue to be a threat to any community he may reside.”

That “threat to community” was realized after Johnny Lewis killed his landlady using “blunt head trauma and strangulation.”

Lewis’ history included various violent crimes including an arrest in February for burglary and battery charges.

Last Friday Lewis’ former attorney Jonathan Mandel revealed that Johnny had notice been considered a threat to anyone. According to Mandel:

“The behavior with me was fine. What was known in May about Johnny was that he had two fairly minor offenses — which were, fortunately, not serious. And he did have a diagnosis, eventually, of chemically induced psychosis.”

Mandel further reveals to CNN:

“From April until August or September, he was probably using no drugs at all. He was incarcerated for a couple of months and then he went to a treatment facility.”

Mandels did admit that at times Johnny Lewis appeared to be “delusional” but not a danger.

While police believe drugs may have played a part in the murder-suicide they admit “we don’t have any hard evidence that says he was on anything right now.”

An official toxicology report is expected in the coming weeks.
