Ben Higgins Going Broke? Former ‘Bachelor’ Spending Thousands To Keep Lauren Bushnell From Leaving

Is Ben Higgins having money problems?

The former Bachelor star is reportedly spending thousands on Lauren Bushnell just to keep her happy. Is Higgins heading for bankruptcy?

“Ben has been breaking the bank trying to please Lauren,” a source told OK Magazine. “When she moved into his place, he spent $25,000 renovating it to her tastes and bought her a bunch of new clothes.”

Bushnell, a former flight attendant, is used to a lavish lifestyle that includes rides in private jets, island vacation, and nights in luxurious hotels.

In order to pay for Bushnell’s expensive habits, Higgins is allegedly trying to land a huge payday for air their wedding.

Higgins wants nothing short of $1 million for the live wedding and is afraid to leave empty handed.

That being said, Bushnell recently sat down with People and explained how she and Higgins are just as ordinary as the average couple.

“I’m excited for people to see how normal Ben and I are,” Bushnell stated. “We went from romantic dates and plane rides and hot tubs to sitting on the couch ordering in!”

The Bachelor couple is gearing up for the premiere of their very own reality show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After. At the same time, Bushnell just launched her blog, titled Sparkle in her Eye.

According to ET Online, the new reality show will document Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s life after The Bachelor.

To spice up the drama, the couple has invited several of Higgins’ former Bachelor contestants to appear on the show.

This includes Emily and Haley Ferguson and Chad Johnson.

The Ferguson twins just left Bachelor in Paradise after failing to find love yet again.

“We came into this together, and we want to leave together,” Emily shared on the show.

At the same time, Becca Tilley and JoJo Fletcher will also be making special cameos on Happily Ever After.

As fans will recall, Fletcher was Higgins’ runner-up on The Bachelor and will appear on the show alongside her new fiancée, Jordan Rodgers.

Given Fletcher’s history with Higgins, her appearance will offer a few awkward moments when the series airs next month.

Meanwhile, despite their busy schedules over the next few months, Bushnell admitted that her life has calmed down since the end of The Bachelor.

“Things have definitely calmed down since the show,” she stated. “That feels like a different lifetime. My head was constantly spinning. Now we’re stable. And I care so much more deeply about Ben now that I’ve learned some of his quirks and the details of who he really is. It makes me love him on such a deeper level now.”

Bushnell and Higgins are currently engaged but have yet to agree to a wedding date.

“Our life is moving a million miles an hour,” she stated. “But the time will come. We’re definitely thinking 2017!”

According to Hollywood Take, Higgins and Bushnell planned on discussing the details of their nuptials last month.

“We have been throwing around some locations, and I think we’ve narrowed it down to the area that we want to get married,” Bushnell revealed. “We both kind of talked more about maybe a winter wedding… Hopefully, cameras will catch it, and I think that’s something that’s really cool, because I know nothing about adding planning.”

Bushnell is hopeful that fans will watch the wedding process take place on their new reality show.

Of course, that might all change if the rumors about Higgins’ money issues are true.

Fans can watch Higgins and Fletcher when Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After airs Oct. 11 on Freeform.
