Is Ariana Grande’s New Song ‘Side To Side’ About Boyfriend Mac Miller Or Ex Big Sean?

Ariana Grande and Mac Miller have taken their relationship to a whole new level of public affection, and it may have influenced Grande’s newest single, “Side to Side” featuring Nicki Minaj.

As reported by E! Online, Mac Miller and Ariana turned up the PDA on a recent date night in Los Angeles.

“Ariana Grande can’t help but look as happy as can be while on a date night with her new boyfriend Mac Miller. The two stars were spotted grabbing a bite to eat at Los Angeles’ hip vegan restaurant Gracias Madre and did their best to leave under the radar.”

The pair have not officially commented on their relationship at this point, but they have essentially told the world through social media posts and displays such as the one in Los Angeles on Friday night that they’re an item. Ariana recently took to her Snapchat account and posted several PDA-riddled shots for the internet to gawk over featuring her and Miller getting cozy.

Fans have now turned their attention to her latest single, “Side to Side,” which debuted at the MTV VMAs last weekend. The catchy tune, as reported by the Huffington Post, goes into graphic detail about Ariana’s sex life, where Grande lifts the veil as to what the title of the track actually meant.

“First, there was ‘Love Me Harder,’ in which The Weeknd sings about making her (or any girl, in general) moan, then came ‘Into You,” when the pop star told us she wanted ‘a little more touch my body.’ Finally, we were blessed with ‘Side to Side,’ a catchy pop tune featuring Nicki Minaj that’s all about having so much sex you can’t walk straight. (Yes, you read that right.)”

The song quickly became a sensation online where everyone from normal everyday fans to celebrities like Lena Dunham chimed in on the meaning of “Side to Side.”

And while many are reveling in the de-Disneying of Ariana’s image into a bonafide superstar, the real question remains: Who is the man that inspired the dirty lyrics? The PDA that Mac Miller and Ariana Grande have shown in recent weeks could suggest the song is about her new flame, but the timing of the recording probably doesn’t match up.

Instead, fans are wondering if it was Mac Miller or her ex Big Sean who inspired Ariana to write this song. As recently detailed in Naya Rivera’s new memoir, it seems the squeaky clean Grande has been getting down and dirty even before her latest album, as reported by Celeb Buzz.

“At one point [Rivera and Sean] were fighting and he was home in LA after traveling for a bit and he didn’t wanna see her, so she was like ‘well I have a key, so,’ the post reads. And she went and found Ariana Grande hanging out sitting on the couch.”

Another possibility is that the man in between Big Sean and Mac Miller, Ricky Alvarez, is the subject of her new hit. And the timing of when she recorded the album coincides with her relationship with the backup dancer.

Of course, the one scenario no one is mentioning is the one where Ariana isn’t talking about any of her current or ex-boyfriends. Instead, fans can look no further than to her cohort on the song, Nicki Minaj, to realize it may have been Minaj’s experiences that inspired the lyrics behind “Side to Side” and not Big Sean or Mac Miller at all. Given Minaj’s track record, that may be the answer Ariana Grande fans have been searching for all along
