Is Mariah Carey Getting Cold Feet About Marrying Packer? Why The Diva May Not Marry Her Billionaire Man

Mariah Carey has no shortage of drama in her life at the moment. Her own brother has recently slammed her to the media, calling his younger sister a “monster” for not assisting their troubled and addicted sister with her medical bills while fighting for her life since being diagnosed with HIV.

This week the 55-year-old sister to Mariah, Alison Carey, was arrested on prostitution charges after an undercover cop replied to an ad posted by the troubled woman. Morgan Carey, the older brother to both Carey sisters, recently went so far as to create a video of Alison pleading for help from Mariah. The singer refused to help her estranged sister. The women have been estranged for a decade now and sources say that in previous years Carey did attempt to help her sister, yet Alison squandered money on drugs and dropped out of rehab after Mariah admitted her.

The personal drama for the star is also carrying over into her love life, seeing as insiders are reporting that Mariah may be getting cold feet about the planned wedding to her billionaire man James Packer. Radar Online reports words of a source about the upcoming nuptials.

“It seems like Mariah has been getting cold feet lately and she keeps questioning her decision to marry James. Mariah is starting to realize how serious of a commitment this is. James gave Mariah everything that she wanted.”

The source goes on to state that although Mariah cares for Packer, she sees their relationship as a means to find the old Mariah after becoming less sure of her appeal following a divorce from Nick Cannon.

“He validated her beauty and her self-worth for her. Because of this, Mariah became the woman that she used to be and she is now back to the old Mariah. But now that she is back to her old self, it seems like she is starting to feel like she needs to see what else is out there.”

The publication relays the words of the source who states that Mariah now feels that she is back to her old self and loving life noting that this is thanks to Packer’s treatment towards her and his doting.

“Because of this, Mariah became the woman that she used to be and she is now back to the old Mariah. But now that she is back to her old self, it seems like she is starting to feel like she needs to see what else is out there.”

Although Mariah does have love for James, sources claim that her excitement that she originally felt about their relationship and their engagement is now fading.

“Mariah does love James, but she has been much less giddy about the whole thing.”

Both Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have remained amicable and stayed in contact since parting ways. In a recent interview Nick shared that he is still broken up about the divorce from the superstar. While on a talk show speaking to Amber Rose, Cannon got candid about his still-single status since splitting from Carey. Entertainment Tonight relays Cannon’s words to the host.

“We talking about breakups?” Cannon, 35, joked. “Aww, damn.”

“The world has seen it!” Cannon continued when host Amber Rose asked him to discuss his worst breakup story.

“I’m not ready to be in a relationship,” he later added. “I’m broken.”

Cannon went on to say that he and Carey are in contact every single day and that they have the utmost respect for one another.

“I speak to her every single day. Matter of fact, I gotta leave here and go pick up the kids [5-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe].”
