Hakeem Nicks To Sit Again For Giants

Hakeem Nicks has been having an injury plagued season. The New York Giants wide receiver did not travel with the team to Philadelphia today and will not play in Sunday’s game.

This will be the second consecutive game that Nicks will have to watch from the sidelines.

Nicks was injured during week two after a 10-catch, 199 yard performance. The star WR missed the Giants’ week three game, which was on a Thursday, because his foot injury did not have enough time to heal.

According to CBS Sports, Nicks foot is doing fine now. Unfortunately, the wide receiver sprained his knee this week and will not be able to play during Sunday’s game.

ESPN reports that Nicks participated in a limited practice on Thursday. He was listed as doubtful on Friday and today the Giants announced that Nicks would not travel with the team.

The Giants wrote on Twitter: “Hakeem Nicks has been downgraded to out and will not make the trip to Philly.”

The Giants will have wide receiver Domenik Hixon back in the lineup. Eli Manning will also be able to throw passes to Victor Cruz and Ramses Barden. Rookie Rueben Randle, who had his first catch last week during Nick’s absence, will also be running a few routes on Sunday.
