Rihanna Responds To Drake’s Heartwarming VMA’s Speech With A Touching Instagram Post

The Rihanna and Drake romance is kicking into high gear.

Since Drake’s heartwarming speech honoring Rihanna when she accepted the Michael Jackson Vanguard award on Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, we’ve been treated to plenty of PDA moments from the new couple.

And nearly a week since Drake’s declaration of love towards RiRi caught everyone by surprise, the Barbadian singer returned the favor by thanking the Canadian rapper and telling him she loves him via an Instagram post, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

In the lengthy Instagram post, Rihanna thanked everyone who supported her throughout her musical career, which includes “my family, friends, loved ones, my fans, my team.”

“#VMA2016 night was one that I would never forget!! I have the most incredible people in my life! My family, friends, loved ones, my fans, my team!!! All gifted beautiful spirits!” Rihanna wrote. “And I’m so grateful that God has precisely and flawlessly arranged our paths to meet at each other! It’s because of you that I was able to reach this
moment in my career!”

RiRi also mentioned a few recognizable names such as Naomi Campbell, Mary J. Blige, and Trace Ellis Ross in her message of appreciation.

“Thank you to the beautiful @iamnaomicampbell @therealmaryjblige @traceeellisross for your kind words!” she wrote.

Rihanna saved the best for last, of course, as she gave a shout out to Drake, telling him how much she appreciated the speech he gave at the VMA’s. Better yet, she told him that she loves him!

“@champagnepapi (Drake), your speech was so touching,” she gushed. “And
I love you for that!”

Rihanna has many things to be happy about, and Drake had the right words to convey to her the big impact she has had on the music industry. After laying low for most of Sunday night, Drake walked up on stage to present RiRi the MTV Video Vanguard Award. After honoring Rihanna for her prodigious achievements, Drake also declared on national television that he’s been in love with her for nearly a decade.

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her, even though she’s younger than me,” he said, stunning everyone watching. “She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”

Since Sunday’s festivities, the pair have become more open about their romance. On Monday night, they enjoyed a romantic date at Nobu in New York. The following day, the new couple headed over to Miami, where they were spotted partying at the E11even nightclub. A source who was at the venue said there was plenty of PDA between the two on that particular night, as previously reported by E! News,

“Rihanna and Drake were happy, not hiding and totally affectionate in front of everyone. At one point they were kissing and holding each other. They seemed very comfortable with each other. Besides for when he was performing, they didn’t leave each other’s side,” the source said.

The following night, Drake brought out Rihanna on stage during his Miami concert and then gave her a kiss on the lips, to the delight of the entire crowd.

You can go ahead and file this one under #relationshipgoals as the “Work” singer recently got a Drake-inspired tattoo on her left ankle. The tattoo is a camouflage shark, which has a special significance for RiRi on account of the stuffed animal the “One Hotline Bling” rapper bought her last month at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in his native Toronto.
