Mr. Bean Goes Viral And The Reason Will Surprise You [Video]

Mr. Bean, the comic character played by Rowan Atkinson has gone viral and is currently trending across the world. Fans of Mr. Bean may well be wondering what all the fuss is about. Is there a new Mr. Bean movie in the pipeline or has Atkinson announced that he will resurrect the popular TV show? Sadly, neither possibility is true. Perhaps, Mr. Bean has been killed off for good or maybe Atkinson has been the subject of yet another “Mr. Bean suicide hoax?” Again, that would be wide of the mark, and the real answer is altogether more bizarre.

According to the Evening Standard, Mr. Bean trending is all down to computer soccer game called FIFA 16. It seems that a FIFA player with a sense of humor has created a virtual Mr. Bean player. The virtual Mr. Bean is apparently endowed with superpowers and can be seen smashing a free kick into the net from a position close to the halfway line. Soccer fans in the UK have been thrilled to see players like David Beckham score goals from halfway in live matches, but even the greatest soccer players lack a secret ingredient that Mr. Bean displays.

That secret ingredient is Mr. Bean’s hilarious dance moves, something that endeared Mr. Bean to fans of the show. The enterprising FIFA fan, who goes by the username of Hesskeyy, added Mr. Bean to his team and endowed him with Mr. Bean’s dance moves as a goal celebration. As you can see in the video below, Mr. Bean throws some great shapes as he dances along to Shaggy’s 1995 hit “Boombastic.” Having his Mr. Bean virtual soccer player throw the same moves was a stroke of genius.

According to Marca, the creation of his Mr. Bean character in the game has resulted in the gamer achieving worldwide fame with other players. Sadly, that fame is likely to be fleeting as a new version of the soccer game is due for release towards the end of September, so the virtual Mr. Bean may quickly pass into the stuff of FIFA legend.

It seems that this is not the first time Mr. Bean has been featured as a star in the FIFA game. Apparently, he was a more than useful player on a virtual Arsenal team in the 2012 version of the game. The Evening Standard even jokes that Arsenal may sign Mr. Bean during the current European transfer window which closes later this evening. Arsenal is rumored to be on the lookout for a striker, but at the time of writing, the BBC reports that no deal has been done for a new player today.

Just last month, Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson was widely reported as having committed suicide after a battle with depression. As reported by Metro. the story was a cruel hoax. and Mr. Bean is alive and well. It seems that the Mr. Bean hoax originated at a site called Linkbeef. and those who clicked on the story were infected with malware that attempted to steal personal information.

As you might imagine, Mr. Bean fans were outraged and disgusted at the false claims that Atkinson had taken his own life.

In a year where so many huge celebrities have passed away. the loss of a beloved actor and the Mr. Bean character would have been another huge blow for star watchers. This wasn’t even the first time that false stories about Atkinson’s death have circulated. Back in 2012, it was claimed that Atkinson had been killed in an automobile accident, but obviously, that story was false as well.

Mr. Bean was created by Atkinson and comedian Ben Elton and despite there only having been 15 episodes made over a five-year period. Mr. Bean has a much-loved place in British comedy history. In addition to the television episodes. Mr. Bean appeared in many sketches and charity fundraising events. Mr. Bean even had a starring role during the 2012 opening ceremony for the London Olympic Games. Atkinson also brought Mr. Bean to the silver screen in the 2007 movie Mr. Bean’s Holiday.
