Ariana Grande Talks Sex And Her Signature High Ponytail

Ariana Grande is certainly working up a sweat in her new music video for “Side to Side” featuring Nicki Minaj. It’s not because the pint-size princess is enjoying an intense workout. In fact, the song is a double entendre for sex.

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj were seen working up a sweat in their new music video, which first premiered on Guess.com. The video premiered on Monday, August 29, a day after the pair’s live performance at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Grande and Minaj are both dressed up in skimpy workout attire as they’re seen riding in spin class, boxing at the gym, and then sweating inside a sauna complete with Ken doll-esque male models.

It’s really no surprise that Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s new song is about sex, according to MTV News. Lena Dunham was the first to learn about the meaning of “Side to Side” from her boyfriend, Jack Antonoff.

Grande took to Twitter to respond with a series of mysterious emojis.

The singer first hinted to MTV News reporter Gaby Wilson about the true meaning of the song on Sunday night’s VMA white carpet. Grande kept it coy when she was asked if the song was actually about sex.

“The whole thing is about riding leading to soreness. Ride d**k bicycle is the lyric, indeed,” the 23-year-old said as she kept it cute.

Grande was referring to Minaj’s verse, “This is the new style with the fresh type of flow / Wrist icicle, ride d**k bicycle / Come true yo, get you this type of blow / If you wanna Minaj, I got a tricycle.”

The petite diva isn’t just talking about sex these days. She’s also opening up about her signature high ponytail, which she obviously loves to rock. There is not a day when Grande is seen without her ponytail. She’s been switching it up this year, from rocking pink highlights, crimped hair, and bangs. In a new interview with Byrdie Beauty, Grande defended her love for her ponytail, which clearly brings her a lot of joy.

“I feel like there’s a thousand different ways to do a ponytail. A million!…It brings me so much joy, honestly. Every time I put my hair up, it’s like a surprise. Like, I forget how much I love it, and then I tie it back and I’m like, ‘I love this look! Ooh, girl!’ Every time I tie it up is like the first time. It’s like true love.”

Grande also has some words for her haters, most of whom have criticized her for not changing up her hairstyle over the years.

“S***, you don’t like my ponytail? I’m gonna have it two times bigger tomorrow, and higher, tighter, more hair in there too! S***, I’ll crimp it! You ain’t seen a crimp like this in 20 years!”

The singer has been making headlines with her newfound romance with rapper Mac Miller. The two recently collaborated on a remix of her hit song “Into You.” Now, with the growing popularity of her new single “Side to Side,” Grande is feeling on top of the world right now.

“I really love my life right now and I’m very appreciate and I’m grateful, so I hope that I just keep going and doing what I’m doing,” the singer told Byrdie. “I’m not gonna take it for granted.”

Ariana Grande’s best advice for her fans on how to be the best version of yourself is just to embrace who you really are. She wanted to be “a mix of my mom and Scary Spice” ever since she was four years old. But, nowadays, Grande just wants to stay true to who she is rather than simply follow what everyone else is doing.

“Being yourself is one of the coolest things that you can do. As hard as it may be to get there, once you find that comfort, run with it.”

Ariana Grande has been living by her own rules. Even though she sings about sex in “Side to Side,” she’s not the one who’s stripping down — the men are. Grande is just being who she is, ponytail or not.
