Research in Motion’s Blackberry 10 mobile OS won’t release until the at least the start of 2013 but a new video surfaced on Thursday that showcases what appears to be the reworked operating system.

The video surfaced just hours before RIM reported market numbers that far exceeded analyst expectations, allowing shares in the cellular manufacturer to jump by 23 percent.

In the video the “L series” Blackberry smartphone is showcased, that device which has been leaked in photograph form on many occasions is expected to be the first RIM handset to launch in 2013. The video also shows the “N series” for the first time, a device that largely mimics the look of RIM’s earlier QWERTY-keyboard based smartphones but with a taller touchscreen display.

In the video a voice over explains how RIM would like to put the Blackberry in the hands of famous people and regular everyday citizens in order to showcase some of the phones unique and what RIM believes will be groundbreaking features.

As expected the video puts big emphasis on multimedia, social networking and based email functionality, all important parts of any mobile device in today’s connected society.

The new devices do look more sleek than previous Blackberry Smartphones and the emphasis on a new output seems at least on video to have translated to a more fluid user design.

Take a quick look at the video below to check out some of the new features that will be available for Blackberry 10 users:

Do you think Blackberry 10 will be the push RIM needs to move forward?
