Mohammad Robinson: Las Vegas Father Of Four Shot And Killed For Not Holding Door Open For Woman At McDonald’s

Mohammad Robinson was shot dead in Las Vegas this weekend, and family members say the father of four was killed simply because he forgot to hold the door open for a woman entering a McDonald’s restaurant.

The shocking killing took place on Saturday night when the 31-year-old Robinson walked into the fast food restaurant in North Las Vegas. Family members told News 3 Las Vegas that Robinson forgot to hold the door open for a woman who was exiting as he walked in, leading to an argument with the woman.

The woman reportedly then told a man she was with about the argument, which led to an argument between Robinson and the man. The assailant then pulled out a gun and shot Mohammad.

“He was coming into McDonald’s and some female was going out,” Robinson’s mother told KVVU. “The door closed before she could get out and what happened is she said a few choice words to him.”

The 31-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

The killing was especially shocking given the victim’s peaceful nature. Family members said Mohammad Robinson was always a very respectful man who would have held the door for the woman if he had seen her.

“He was the utmost respect for his elders. Yes, ma’am — no sir. He’s not confrontational even when we would argue he’d walk away,” Mohammad’s girlfriend, who did not give her name, told News 3 Las Vegas.

The girlfriend, who said she didn’t want to disclose her identity for fear of retaliation, said that Mohammad was at work when the shooting took place and visiting McDonald’s for his lunch break. Mohammad’s best friend was with him at the time of the shooting and relayed to family members the circumstances of how he was killed.

Mohammad’s daughter, 14-year-old Miniya Sampson, said she is devastated at her father’s senseless murder. She also had a strong message for the person who took his life.

“It’s horrible. I want my dad back and you took him away from me!” she said.

“It was a stupid reason honestly, irrelevant. It doesn’t make any sense why would you actually take someone’s life over not opening a door,” Sampson added.

Robinson had four children, including a three-month-old daughter.

Family and friends of Mohammad Robinson have now started a GoFundMe page to raise money to help cover the man’s funeral. So far the fundraiser has taken in just over $800, as well as condolences from across the nation.

As Mohammad’s girlfriend wrote in the fundraiser’s description, they are also battling a health crisis for the youngest child and facing medical bills on top of the funeral expenses.

“As I sit here trying to absorb this horrific news and put the broken pieces back together again for myself and family I worry how the future will play out from losing him and dealing with our youngest child who is currently hospitalized and suffering from a blood infection called sepsis at a young age of 3 months,” she wrote.

Mohammad’s death also brought an outpouring of support from within the Las Vegas community. Many people visited the scene of his death, leaving candles and flowers in his memory.

Mohammad’s mother, who already lost one child to cancer and another to a car accident, had a surprising message for the person who shot and killed her son outside the McDonald’s this weekend.

“I forgive you because God says to forgive,” she said. “But if you are not caught, then you will have to live with that for the rest of your life.”

Police are still searching for the man who killed Mohammad Robinson.
